50 Questions to ask your spouse
I’m passionate about the intersection of entrepreneurship and marriage. Entrepreneurship is lonely when things aren’t good at home.
I wish I could say we planned it this way. The truth is we became a data company:
More members → more bills
More bills → more cash-pay prices
More cash-pay prices → better low-cost, high-quality options
Better options → lower costs
Lower costs → lower prices
Lower prices → more members
…and the flywheel spins again.
My healthcare dollars this month went straight to a CrowdHealth member in FL who had a stroke. Where did yours go?
The crazy thing is that if Employer sponsored denied about 690M claims (extrapolating the 16% as reported by the NAIC), and the ACA denied about 122M claims, if you include medicaid (no good data) and medicare (about 100M) we are probably close to 1 billion claims denied each year.

We have added a couple more positions.
CFO - Must have compliance experience as we must abide by significant regulatory requirements with our money flow. We will not consider anyone that does not have compliance experience.
General Manager, Negotiations - This is startup within a startup. We need someone entrepreneurial but has some operating chops. We are looking to take what we have internally, sharpen it, and transition it from a cost center to a profit center (lots of people outside of Crowd are looking for negotiations help).

Stories like this are my “why”
“Do whatever you need to do to save your baby girl.”
“Hi!
We just wanted to send a quick note to thank you all so much for your support last week. It was, without a doubt, the scariest experience of our lives, and we cannot tell you how much it meant to know that when we reached out to our Care Advocate, there were no pre-approvals, permissions, or hoops to jump through. We were simply told, “Do whatever you need to do to save your baby girl.” In that moment, that meant everything to us.
After my C-section, Saylor was in such critical condition that I wasn’t even able to see or meet her. She was transferred to the NICU with Austin while I remained in the hospital recovering. For two full days, I could only see my newborn baby through FaceTime. Being separated from both my husband and our daughter, stuck in a hospital and completely helpless, was incredibly difficult.
We are so incredibly grateful to share that Saylor James was discharged from the NICU Friday evening! According to her doctors, she made a remarkable recovery. She went from being unresponsive and requiring resuscitation twice at birth to coming home with us just four days later. It truly feels like a miracle, and God is so good.
We wanted to share a few photos from our little journey so you could see the family behind all of this. The work you are doing truly matters, and your support gave our family one less thing to worry about during the most frightening days of our lives.
We will never forget it. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being there for our family when we needed it most.
All the best,
Baby Saylor and Family
Breaking News: Politico just revealed that these companies paid to get on this panel.
We know how much it was. We couldn't afford it. Not even close.
Not shocking. Our healthcare system is owned by the oligopolies. They have a ton of dough and incredible amount of influence in federal and state governments...regardless of whether they are blue or red.
Big money should not be able to sway policy. Its undemocratic.
Let's democratize healthcare.
(Cue the IRS audit)

MAHA has totally jumped the shark.
They have a MAHA summit coming up next week and guess who is on the "Affordability First" panel?
UnitedHealth (largest health insurance plan)
Elevance (second largest health insurance plan)
American Health Insurance Plan Association
Clearly these folks have done a stellar job at making "Affordability First."
@MAHA_Action, if you want some fireworks at that panel, and actually make it relevant, our CEO @andyjschoonover would be happy to join.
When people lack purpose, they manufacture problems
Talk about the most boring panel ever.

I hate complaining...but, this video went quasi viral because I think it hit home for many people. So we tried to boost it so more people could see it.
Just like an insurance plan...DENIED!
Dunno...maybe it was "not medically necessary."
@elonmusk is brilliant but it feels like X is making it almost impossible to get revenue from companies who want to support them.
So interesting to me how different social media platforms really are.
Post this on X and it goes quasi-viral.
Post the exact same thing on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn… crickets.
Each platform seems to have developed its own purpose:
X is where people go to argue, debate, and have intellectual discussions even when the discussion is satirical.
Instagram is where you look at pretty pictures and fantasize about the life you should or could be living.
Facebook is where you keep up with friends and family.
TikTok is where you go for the constant dopamine hits.
LinkedIn is where people hawk their goods and services while pretending they’re sharing “thought leadership.”
Different platforms. Completely different cultures.

Yesterday I had the honor of interviewing someone who is helping to shift the narrative around insurance and health autonomy @andyjschoonover @JoinCrowdHealth
Just getting started.
The Crowd has ripped $100,061,416 out of the medical industrial complex, the pharmaceutical companies, the insurance companies, and the hospitals and invested that money back into their families, into better food, and into their futures.
We are so grateful for all of those who have said "NO" to this broken system and have joined us in a revolution to change the way we pay for healthcare.🧡🙏

Love your neighbor
Y'all, we have some Crowdies going through some tough times.
The Anderson family recently lost their home to a fire. They lost everything but we are so thankful that they made it out of the home without injury.
If you are at all interested in helping out a member of the Crowd fam please consider giving. 🙏

Jessica is our delight coordinator. We have a full time person just to make sure that when you have something big in life happen that you feel love from the Crowd.
She’ll generally send a little something like a baby blanket and a onesie for new babies, care package for mom, flowers to someone going through surgery, gift card to the local grocery if we have a member struggling financially, etc
So many tough health cases that she has had to help with lately. Thanks to the Crowd these people can worry about their health and not their finances.
What an incredible journey. My heart is full of so much gratitude for team that made this happen and for the people who joined this crazy idea to change the way we pay for healthcare. It blows my mind that nearly 40,000 people have given us the opportunity to serve them. If you are one of them, thank you! 🙏
We just hit #270 on the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing companies. 🎉
The ranking isn't the story.
The story is tens of thousands of you, choosing each other over a broken system. Showing up for a stranger's ER bill. Sharing the load when someone got the diagnosis nobody wants. Proving that healthcare doesn't need an insurance company in the middle to work.
You didn't just leave the system. You built something better in its place. You are starting a revolution.
And it's spreading. Fast.
If you're already in the Crowd... Thank you!!
If you're still on the fence, come and join in on the fun (and save a ton of money along the way).
So many companies, and executives, think that raising massive investment rounds is a flex.
I think that getting to profitability so you don't need raise another round is a flex.
I had a guy from a very prestigious firm call me and say "Oh, I didn't think you guys were doing well because you haven't raised since 2022."
My response: "Actually, we are doing so well that we haven't needed to raise money since 2022."
Come hang out with me
