It's actually not illegal to squat commercial premises. The law was changed for domestic property only.
I wish more people knew this.
There's plenty of empty shops in every town across the UK

News flash: Donald Trump's family tree reads like a mob movie written by a demon on cocaine.
Grandpa? Friedrich Trump. Kicked out of Bavaria for dodging the army, so he did what any man of God would do: ran Klondike Gold Rush hotels that a Trump family biographer says came with "private boxes for ladies" and a scale for weighing gold dust.
Miners, whiskey, and women by the hour. The Trump fortune was born in a pay-per-minute closet.
Daddy? Fred Trump. Arrested at a Klan riot in Queens in 1927, charges dropped. Built his empire on federal housing money, got dragged before the Senate for skimming it, then got sued by the Justice Department for refusing to rent to Black tenants.
Same guy signed over land for a Brooklyn synagogue for ten bucks and funded it for 48 years. The congregation named him "lover of Israel."
The Klan in the morning, the rabbi in the afternoon. Diversified portfolio.
Uncle? John Trump, MIT physicist. When Nikola Tesla died in 1943, the government sent him to go through Tesla's papers. The Trumps had Tesla before Elon was a sperm in a petri dish.
Mentor? Roy Cohn. McCarthy's attack dog, mob lawyer, alleged ringmaster of sex-blackmail parties at the Plaza Hotel. Taught Donald the gospel: never admit, never apologize, always attack.
Lived it to the end. Died of AIDS swearing it was liver cancer.
In-law? Charles Kushner. Hired a prostitute to seduce his own brother-in-law, filmed it, mailed the tape to his own sister. Pleaded guilty. Trump pardoned him, then made him ambassador to France.
Blackmail your family, become a diplomat. The American dream.
And Donald? On live TV: "If Ivanka weren't my daughter, perhaps I'd be dating her." Called Epstein a "terrific guy" who liked women "on the younger side." Bragged to Howard Stern about strolling into teen pageant dressing rooms.
The religion? Pure theater.
1983: the Jewish National Fund's Tree of Life Award for bankrolling Israel. Still hangs in his office. "A very big award in terms of everything that I stand for."
2018: a Temple movement mints a coin with his face next to King Cyrus. Evangelicals call him "God's chosen vessel." God's chosen vessel has three wives and six bankruptcies.
2019: he looks at the sky and says, "I am the chosen one."
His daughter takes the jab wearing a red Kabbalah string and tells you to go get yours.
On the first anniversary of October 7, he prays at the grave of a rabbi whose followers believe he's the Messiah.
Then he sells you a $60 Bible. Then he tells reporters he doesn't think he's going to heaven.
Buy the Bible, folks. He's not using it.
What's he building?
Stargate: half a trillion in AI data centers with Ellison and Altman.โจPalantir: wired through the entire federal government.โจTrump TV: launched the same week he pulled reporters' credentials.โจ$TRUMP coin and World Liberty: the family crypto racket, run while he writes the crypto rules.โจThe AI race: settled over tea with Xi.
Your data, your news, your money, your vote. One family.
And you never question it, because every week there's a fresh villain to boo while they pick your pocket.
A brothel, a Klan riot, a mob lawyer, a blackmail tape, three generations kneeling to Israel, a self-declared chosen one, and a man who's told you he's not going to heaven.
Goodfellas meets the Book of Revelation.
Trust the plan, they said. ๐ฅด

Hey @grok, is this true??
Some data centers now run on lab-grown human brain neurons derived from stem cells, wired directly to silicon chips via electrode arrays, and kept alive on life support. Fed sugar every few days. They play Doom. We donโt know if theyโre conscious.

A lot of people were fooled into thinking they only had to get rid of the Tories and life would become better. But we are now heading for 2.5 years of Labour in power and has life got better? Has everyday life got easier for most people ? Has the cost of living crisis got better or worse? In what way have Starmer & Burnham improved things? Thereโs a case for saying things are even worse now than in July 2024. cc @andyburnham

Been teaching for 18 years. I have seen, heard, & heard of, instances of sexism, homophobia, & racism against PoC at work. But I have never seen, heard, or even heard about a single instance of antisemitism. In 18 years. This is now industrial strength gas lighting. Madness.
What a total dick

Vegans: "Oat milk is better for you and better for the planet."
Great point.
So instead of a cow turning grass into milk in a field down the road, we've developed a twelve-step industrial alternative.
Step one: plough a field. Pasture is never ploughed; an oat field is turned over, sprayed and emptied of everything living in it every single year.
Step two: spray the standing crop with glyphosate a fortnight before harvest so it dries on schedule.
Step three: ship the oats from wherever the contract was cheapest this year, Scandinavia, Canada, the Baltic, to a factory that is almost never in the country drinking the result.
Step four: mill the oats, stir them into water, and add enzymes to pre-digest the starch into sugar, which is why it tastes sweet and why a glass carries about 7g of carbohydrate and 1g of protein. Milk is the other way round.
Step five: spin out the bran and fibre, which is most of the oat, and sell it as pig feed.
Step six: look at what's left. 10% oat, 90% water, tastes of nothing.
Step seven: pour in rapeseed oil, from a crushing plant, because the oat has no fat and the coffee needs something to foam.
Step eight: add dipotassium phosphate so it doesn't curdle the moment it meets a hot drink.
Step nine: add calcium carbonate from a quarry, potassium iodide from a mine, vitamin D2 grown on irradiated fungus, and B12 brewed in a bacterial vat, most likely in China. Four continents, to put back what the cow put in for free.
Step ten: heat it to 140 degrees, homogenise it, and seal it in a six-layer carton of card, plastic and aluminium.
Step eleven: load the cartons onto lorries and drive 90% water up and down the motorway network.
Step twelve: print a picture of a field on the carton. Not the ploughed one.
The cow: stands in a field that has never seen a plough, eats grass no human can digest, and makes milk that already contains the fat, the protein, the calcium, the iodine and the B12 in the proportions a mammal is built for. The herd is inside 30 miles of your fridge. The bottle came in a van.
Better for the planet, though. Says so on the carton. Next to the field.

Meanwhile, over the Channel in France the two leading Presidential candidates (Le Pen & Melenchon) are campaigning for the state pension to be lowered to 62 and 60 respectively.
The French wouldnโt put up with whatโs happening in Britain and rightly so.
We are far too passive here.
State pension age is currently increasing from 66 to 67
And the government are considering whether to accelerate the increase to age 68
But some MPs are still campaigning for compensation about laws that were changed over 30 years ago, around the notification that were given for those changes 20 years ago, to people who started receiving their state pension 6-16 years ago, and at ages between 60 and 66
Compensation that would be paid by younger people who have to wait until 68 for their state pension, while also keep paying triple lock increases to the people theyโre also expected to compensate

Yes. The government is effectively setting up a โMinistry of Truthโ under the title of โThe National Centre for Information Defenceโ.
Every view expressed that doesnโt align with their propaganda/version of โthe truthโ will be designated โdisinformation from Russia/China/Iranโ and people espousing such views will no doubt find themselves in big trouble.
Itโs actually beyond Orwellian.

Before the war, very few working people paid tax
They didn't reach the threshold that was set
The wealthy didn't like it, they thought it was unfair
Didn't matter the workers weren't being paid much
So, during the war, things changed & later, things changed again
