after a discussion about ai safety, taylor lorenz blocked me after accusing me of “discrediting women." in our exchange i never mentioned any women, any allegations, any abuse victims, etc. literally my only point in our entire exchange was that ai risk concern predates ea, which it does. her only takeaway from this exchange is that im a cult member, despite me incessantly trying to clarify that (1) yes many “ea’s” are weird and (2) i am not personally associated with them (i am an ai researcher, not an ea advocate) and (3) i wish they didnt have so much control over ai development rather than engage with anything i said, including my original tweet, all she did was conspiratorial line drawing, name calling, and false accusations. maybe taylor lorenz knows something about internet culture or leftism, idk. but she knows nothing about ai, and she doesn’t seem to want to. so i have no clue why she is so vocal on the topic. imo she ought to be obliterated from relevance and the ranks of any serious organization. ironically, all her bad-faith engagement does is pr for ea.
