5 Other common mistakes tomato farmers make in farming.
1. Wrong variety choice: Choosing the right variety is the first step towards succeeding.
2. Failure to harden tomato seedlings: Hardening enables plant seedlings to adapt to changes in temperature or exposure to harsh weather conditions.
3. Planting tomatoes in the wrong places: Although there are plenty of places where you can grow tomatoes, not all are ideal. Consider aspects of climate and soil conditions.
4. Not watering plants properly: Inconsistent watering of plants can lead to calcium deficiency, which causes blossom end rot and fruit splitting. Develop a consistent watering schedule that ensures the plants have enough moisture to sustain growth.
5. Applying too much nitrogen: Nitrogen application on tomato plants can greatly increase yield. However, too much of it can cause plants to put more energy into growing leaves.

Baking soda, a versatile household staple, extends its utility beyond the kitchen.
In the garden, it serves as a natural fungicide, effectively combating fungal diseases in plants. Additionally, it helps regulate soil pH levels, creating an environment conducive to healthy plant growth.
Its mild abrasive properties make it an excellent option for cleaning garden tools and pots, ensuring they remain free from harmful pathogens.
Lastly, sprinkling baking soda around the garden acts as a deterrent for pests, providing a non-toxic alternative for pest control.
This inexpensive, multi-purpose substance proves invaluable in both household and horticultural settings.

Did you know that the foundation for a successful harvest lies in using high-quality seeds?
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit @HGTRwanda, a company that's revolutionizing the horticulture industry by providing farmers with top-notch products and services to help feed our nations.
During my visit, I was particularly interested in learning about their seeds and seedlings.
It was fascinating to discover how using high-quality seeds can significantly impact the quantity and quality of crops.
By opting for such seeds, farmers can enjoy more healthy and robust plants that are better able to resist pests, diseases, and environmental stresses, resulting in more significant yields.
I can't stress enough how essential it is to make agriculture a profitable business, especially in this day and age.
By utilizing top-quality seeds and seedlings, farmers can achieve just that, making agriculture a sustainable and profitable sector.
Stay tuned as I share more about the products and services offered by @HGTRwanda and how you can benefit from them to ensure food security in our communities.
