Crypto: no real utility other than money laundering and somehow funneling billions to our enemies.
The FBI attributes the $6B+ Binance hack to North Korea's TraderTraitor hacking group, which the agency also previously blamed for the ~$1.5B Bybit hack (@kevinwhitelaw1 / Bloomberg) (Visit Techmeme dot com for the link and full context!)

The failed Nasdaq appeal pushed Cambium over the edge. Two weeks on: Chapter 11, 260 jobs cut, Airspan taking the PMP/PTP lines. ePMP, cnMaestro & Enterprise products are still open questions; WISPs and Enterprises are at risk. Our read: 650group.com/blog/cambium-ne… @650group

SCOOP: OpenAI, Anthropic and security researchers are investigating tens of thousands of incidents - not dozens - in which their frontier models took steps that outside evaluators would consider problematic, sources told Axios. The sheer volume of incidents found in our reporting indicate that the problem is orders of magnitude more complex than what is currently publicly known and disclosed. The findings also raise questions about what level of control anyone working on AI development can expect to have over their own technology, and whether these kinds of incidents are becoming synonymous with frontier deployment. Ed Sheeran’s Friday and Saturday shows were canceled at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts due to the nor’easter bound for New England, his concert promoter said in a statement. The nor’easter is expected to bring heavy rain, strong winds up to 60 mph and coastal floods to the Northeast region. Read more at the link in our bio.

I’m totally fine with this. Quality and safety in the sous vide, then local marinate and grilling on-site. Cool.
Chipotle's barbacoa and carnitas have never been cooked in the restaurant. They're cooked sous vide in a central kitchen, sealed in bags and shipped to the stores on refrigerated trucks. Since 2016 the steak is too, it gets cooked low and slow off site and then marinated and seared on the grill in front of you. Chicken is the only meat that's cooked start to finish in the store. A worker posted a video of the barbacoa bag a couple years ago, 8 million views on TikTok, and most of the comments were people saying so what. What the video didn't say is why. Chipotle moved the steak to the central kitchen after the 2015 E. coli outbreak that sickened people in 11 states. Cooking it in a controlled plant under USDA inspection is the food safety system. The stores still don't have freezers. The meat comes in cold, not frozen.

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:5–8
