Being the first mom governor doesn’t prove competence any more than it proves failure. The record does. Right now the record says she is underperforming the job, not defining it. If the priority really is families, the numbers should show it.

I now have two sources close to Susie Wiles who claim that Trump is preparing a vast misinformation campaign for November 4th, built around conspiracy theories alleging widespread election fraud.
The plan? Declare victory regardless of the results, accuse Democratic officials of manufacturing ballots overnight, claim voting machines were secretly manipulated, and demand that Republican candidates refuse to concede.
In this scenario, the goal isn’t to prove fraud. It’s to convince millions of Americans that any election Republicans lose must have been stolen.

Hochul, how did these folks feel about being last in the US with wage growth, economic outlook and the other great characteristics you've nurtured in your five years?
How did they feel about your full on assault on NYC by continuing on with cashless bail? In my opinion it's the most irresponsible thing ever to come out of a state government since the Civil War but I'd like to hear about their opinions, if you have a minute.

The Trump administration is moving forward with a nearly $17 million expansion of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility in Batavia, according to information provided by the Department of Homeland Security.
The expansion at the Buffalo Service Processing Center is expected to add up to 100 additional detention beds and is intended to provide additional space for people held in ICE custody, including female detainees.
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin confirmed the project in a September 29 letter to U.S. Rep. Tim Kennedy. Federal officials say the expansion is being funded through the Trump administration’s major tax and spending law.
The project has drawn criticism from Kennedy and other opponents of the administration’s immigration policies. Kennedy says the federal government should instead be focusing on issues affecting local families.
Federal officials say the expansion is necessary because of a new New York state law limiting local law enforcement agencies from entering into agreements with ICE to house federal immigration detainees.
The Batavia facility is already one of the largest ICE detention facilities in New York.
Recent documents indicate the expansion could involve a soft-sided/tent-style detention structure, although federal documents have also described it as a hard-sided facility. The changing descriptions have raised additional questions about exactly what will be constructed.
Construction and operation of the expansion are expected to cost nearly $17 million, with the project planned to increase detention capacity as the Trump administration continues its nationwide immigration enforcement and deportation efforts.

Kathy Hochul has spent years climbing the ladder of New York politics without ever demonstrating the basic competence required to run a state. As Erie County Clerk she built a profile on routine administrative work. As Lieutenant Governor she spent most of her time in the background of Andrew Cuomo’s administration. Once she became Governor by succession, the amateur hour never ended.
Budget after budget has been marked by last-minute chaos, opaque deals, and the steady expansion of spending that fails to deliver safer streets or lower costs. Her handling of the 2025 corrections officers strike produced mass firings followed by staffing crises that still leave prisons under-guarded.
Cashless bail and other criminal-justice changes have produced the predictable results: repeat offenders cycling through the system while victims and their families are left explaining why the system appears to protect the people who hurt them. Energy policy has driven up utility bills while large tracts of farmland are converted for solar projects whose output does not match the rhetoric.
Public safety messaging collides with the parole board’s repeated releases of individuals convicted of killing police officers. These are not isolated missteps; they form a pattern of reactive governance that prioritizes headlines and coalition management over measurable results.
The most tone-deaf recent example is her decision to appear in a hijab. The garment is not a neutral fashion statement. For millions of women worldwide it remains a symbol of compulsory covering enforced under threat of violence or social punishment. Choosing to wear one in New York, in the city and state that suffered the deadliest terrorist attack ever committed on American soil, an attack carried out in the name of Allah, shows a striking lack of sensitivity.
New Yorkers still live with the memory of that day. Women who have fled or rejected theocratic regimes recognize the symbolism immediately. An executive who cannot grasp why that choice lands poorly is not equipped to lead a state whose residents expect both competence and basic situational awareness. New York has had enough of the learning curve.
