Israel has no valid claim to this land and no legitimacy in “coordinating” the olive harvest that takes place there. This is part of a determined effort in the West Bank to make life impossible, make peace impossible, and to shield those actions from international scrutiny.
Earlier today, a number of harvesters, accompanied by dozens of individuals, arrived to conduct an uncoordinated olive harvest in an area near Beitar Illit. Harvesting in this area requires a request to be submitted to the relevant authorities in advance of the start of the olive harvest season. This coordination is necessary to ensure the security of the area and maintain public order. Due to the security risk posed by conducting an uncoordinated harvest near an Israeli community, IDF soldiers, Border Police forces in Judea and Samaria, and officers from the Judea and Samaria District Police arrived at the scene and detained those present. The landowner was informed that he must coordinate the olive harvest on his plot of land and was provided with the relevant contact information to arrange a harvest at a later date. It should be emphasized that authorized olive harvests have taken place and continue to take place. To date, approximately 100 coordinated harvests have been conducted across Judea and Samaria, yielding many dozens of tons of produce, with security provided and coordination by the security forces, without any unusual incidents. In areas designated for coordinated harvesting, only harvesters will be permitted to enter, solely for the purpose of harvesting. As in previous years, security forces are working to facilitate a safe and orderly olive harvest season, with a firm commitment to enabling harvesting without unusual incidents or interruptions, alongside their ongoing defensive and counterterrorism missions.

I join in this call. All of us have a role to play in combatting ICE. If you are a property owner, you have no obligation to allow them to operate on your property.
More than 100 elected officials have joined me in calling on parking lot and garage owners across New York City: Don’t give ICE a place to operate. Don’t rent to them. Tell them they’re not welcome. Last week, ICE agents shot Oscar Belgal in the neck in Marble Hill while his 5-year-old son sat in the car. They had been staging nearby in a private parking lot. Our city laws keep ICE off public property. Now, we’re calling on private property owners to do the same. One garage on Morton Street already removed ICE vehicles after neighbors spoke out. Every owner has that power.

These are two completely unrelated statements! Hope that helps.
Replying to @DHSgov
CLAIM: The ICE agents wore construction vests and masks that concealed their faces. There was no reasonable way to identify them as ICE agents. FACT: This illegal alien was the subject of a targeted enforcement action. What makes someone a target for immigration enforcement is whether or not they are illegally in the U.S.

Two unidentified men run up on a car with guns drawn and bang on the window. Any reasonable person in the driver’s position would be terrified. Of course he drove away. The video confirms that there was zero justification for this shooting. ICE must be held accountable.

This afternoon a New Yorker sitting in a car with his 5 year old son was shot by a federal agent posing as a construction worker. These agents are subject to our State law—there is no blanket immunity that covers unlawful acts. This individual must be held accountable.
Photos from the aftermath of the New York City ICE shooting that were obtained by The Intercept show a federal agent in a high-viz vest weilding an assault rifle. An eyewitness told @NoahHurowitz that an agent at the scene appeared to be posing at a construction worker, until they stashed their high-viz vest. theintercept.com/2026/10/08/…

This afternoon in Marble Hill, a New Yorker was shot by an ICE agent in a residential neighborhood. Early reports indicate agents surrounded him and a 5-year-old child in his car before firing multiple rounds. We believe the child was physically unharmed. This is an unconscionable and incredibly serious situation. I have called the President; when we speak I will demand that he ends all ICE enforcement actions in our city. I will not stand by while ICE agents terrorize our communities. Our thoughts are with the injured New Yorker and his family tonight. We are praying for his recovery. Get ICE out of our neighborhoods. Get ICE out of our hospitals. Get ICE off our streets. Get ICE away from our children. Abolish ICE.

I've spent my career as a public defender, and I know what actually keeps our communities safe. @TishJames gets it. She's fought for affordability and justice at the same time. Watching her tonight proves that. #AGDebate2026
New Yorkers deserve a real conversation about who's fighting for them. Watch @TishJames tonight on @NY1 as she talks about what truly matters to New Yorkers: safety, justice, and affordability. youtube.com/watch?v=_qbzWbwX…

I’m honored to take part in this screening and discussion of No Accident, a powerful documentary about the legal fight for accountability after the 2017 white supremacist violence in Charlottesville. A sobering story, and an important conversation for this moment.

Three years ago today, the Jewish people experienced the deadliest day in our history since the Holocaust. We remember the more than 1,200 innocent people murdered by Hamas and Islamic Jihad. We remember every life stolen and every family shattered. We remember the victims of unimaginable brutality. Three years later, we also reflect on the subsequent war and ensuing damages and devastation. We mourn the loss of innocent lives in Gaza and the profound suffering endured by the civilian population. We mourn. We remember. And we recommit ourselves to building a future in which Israelis and Palestinians can live in security, freedom, and peace. October 7th will always be a day of mourning and sadness. May we honor the memory of those who were lost by heeding the words of Psalm 34: “Seek peace and pursue it.”

Stood with @spocuaw members outside Mount Sinai yesterday to demand a fair contract, along with fellow Dem nominees. The staff has brought in millions in research dollars. Management should come to the table and support the workers.

Proud to bear witness to this tangible step forward in the opening of @uptownfilmnyc, a state-of-the- art independent film center on the UWS
A celebratory day at the Uptown Film Center, former Metro Theater, as the longtime graffiti on the historic Upper West Side building’s facade is coming down.
