This is the only real change to the game that I am sad for. The loss of the starting pitcher takes something away from it for me. You lose the story and narrative which always added more in buildup and during the game.
No one is cooler than Cliff Lee in the World Series 😂 OTD in 2009, Lee casually showed off his defensive skills during his complete game victory in Game 1 against the Yankees

Survey fans on cheaper tickets, $5 beers, free parking, no blackouts, every game on one affordable streaming service, no jersey ads and fewer commercials. Funny how fan opinion suddenly matters when it aligns with the owners’ financial interests. These guys aren’t prepared to sacrifice billions in revenue and risk a work stoppage out of concern for competitive balance. They do not give a shit about competitive balance. Owners want a cap because they believe it benefits them financially. Full stop. The fan surveys are just a convenient way to sell it. Trying to convince fans that billionaire owners suddenly care about them is insulting.
“Owners do not intend to pivot from their contentions. Their insistence on a cap and floor -- backed, the league says, by surveys that show fans want one”, per @JeffPassan

Worst part about the dodgers buying championship after championship is Dave Roberts getting to act like he’s a good manager lol

I’m all for teams doing whatever they fan to create a home field advantage, but the Brewers putting an ad behind home plate promoting a website telling fans to boo the Padres’ starting pitcher is a little classless imo

I know it didn't always go perfectly, but I don't think it'll ever not be the absolute coolest thing that we got to see Max Scherzer pitch in a Toronto Blue Jays uniform for two years

Max Scherzer just became the eighth pitcher in MLB history to record double-digit strikeouts in a game after turning 42 years old. Everyone else to do it is either in Cooperstown, en route to Cooperstown, denied entry into Cooperstown despite obvious merit, or Rich Hill.

This is the funniest rule in baseball because it makes boomers who don’t know ball furious - the rule was codified in 1845!!!!!! The runner sets the basepath, you’re taught to run at wherever the receiver of the throw is looking!!
