If you read the post, you'll see, I am (inspired by @dandrezner - but not as funny) going to keep a thread open and going about what roles Kamala plays in the Biden administration and what they tell us about administration priorities.

The fact that the president of the United States has spent a single waking moment thinking about this decadent vanity project should be a source of deep, everlasting shame to anyone who ever supported him.
Good article today from the NYT. I have still yet to hear one good reason why we should get rid of a broad, multi purpose space to satisfy one thing and one thing only. It defies imagination and what PUBLIC space is meant to be. nytimes.com/interactive/2026…

Bibi admitting he’s destroyed foundational aspects of Israeli national Security. The End of US assistance. Becoming a global pariah. Sanctions enroute. Quite the campaign message.
1/ Benjamin Netanyahu got the last set of polls last night. They argue Likud and his block are eroding fast. Then, came his remarks on Israel's economy. These are among the most extraordinary he has made in a long political career. Whatever their intent, they carry real weight for the Israeli economy – before Tuesday's election, and regardless of who forms the next government. In an interview with journalist Roy Katz, aired Friday, the prime minister said American military aid to Israel is coming to an end. "It's over. It's only a question of time," he said. Israelis should get used to no longer receiving tens of billions of dollars in U.S. defense assistance, he added, "because America has changed." That alone is remarkable. There is a growing recognition in Israel that U.S. military aid in its current form will have to change, and might end, as bipartisan support for Israel erodes in Washington. Netanyahu himself has spoken before about wanting to wean Israel off the aid. But there is a distance between that recognition and a sitting prime minister effectively announcing the end of one of the pillars of the U.S.–Israel strategic relationship. The current Memorandum of Understanding – $38 billion over ten years – runs through September 2028. It is embedded in a web of interests that includes the American defense industry, and Israel's diplomats in Washington work hard to sustain it. Israel's friends in Congress, operating in an increasingly difficult political environment, are still fighting to preserve the special relationship. When the prime minister himself says "it's over," that is a hard message for Israel's defense establishment, and for those in Washington still trying to help. And that was only the opening. "There could be sanctions, including banking sanctions," Netanyahu said. Israel, he explained, must prepare an economy capable of bypassing them. This is a different order of magnitude entirely. Some background is needed. In the world of international sanctions, comprehensive banking sanctions against a country are among the most powerful tools available to major powers. They are not import restrictions, consumer boycotts, or even arms embargoes. Broad financial sanctions go after an economy's circulatory system. Israel's banks depend on the global financial system: correspondent banks, clearing, credit lines, the ability to move money across borders. Without access to banks abroad, the Israeli economy stops functioning. And such sanctions don't hit only the banks. They hit everyone who banks with them – companies, exporters, importers, investors, employers. When foreign banks become nervous about a country's financial institutions, they tend to cut ties well beyond what the law strictly requires. In other words, a sweeping financial sanctions regime would push Israel toward the category of Iran or Russia. It would be worse. Iran and Russia sit on vast oil and gas reserves. Even under sanctions, they keep selling – mainly in Asia and parts of the Global South. Israel's economy is not built on commodities. Its strength comes from integration into the global economy: human capital, technology, research, advanced services. According to the Israel Innovation Authority, Israeli high-tech exported roughly $85 billion in goods and services in 2025 – 58 percent of all Israeli exports – and accounted for about half of the economy's growth. It is the engine of the economy, and it depends on foreign markets, foreign capital, and the free movement of money. Netanyahu did not say who might impose banking sanctions. A prime minister raising this possibility, in the same breath as forecasting the end of U.S. aid, should prompt immediate questions. Is he referring to European sanctions? American ones? above all: how did Israel get to the point where this is being discussed at all? There was more - and much worse.

1985. I am in third grade in the USSR. We have a mandatory political indoctrination lesson. The lesson is on Zionist aggression, Israeli perfidy, and Soviet Jews who are susceptible to its reach. Kids turn and point fingers at me and another Jewish student. Anti-zionism in action
Lifelong Anti-Racist: Erm, actually, I think we should be legislating so that a 10 year old Jewish boy is bullied and held accountable for the actions of the State of Israel by his classmates.

I’m sure that Jared’s iPhone contents will get as much media coverage and commentary as Hunter Biden’s laptop.
The GRU hacked into Jared Kushner's iPhone. Dutch military intelligence (MIVD) then recruited a GRU spy who gave them access to the hacked phone. What MIVD discovered was that Kushner had access to two bank accounts --one Azerbaijani, the other Israeli --where Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Emirati ruler Mohammed bin Zayed deposited money. It sounds like a slightly far-fetched episode of "Slow Horses," but it's real. And it proves just how eye-poppingly corrupt this administration was and continues to be as its "special envoy" decides the fate of tens of millions in Europe in the Middle East. Simply incredible reporting by Matthew Cole, drawn from his new book on Kushner. vanityfair.com/story/jared-k…

Understanding Israel’s elections next week requires understanding their political system. To better explain the dynamics, I translate their system to US terms. It explains a lot. #israelelections aaronmannes.substack.com/p/w…

Just sharing this with relatives who are still thinking about voting for Bibi to remind them this is who comes into a gov with him. Every diaspora Jew with ties to Israel can do their part. Every vote flipped matters.

In politics, amateurs talk personality, professionals study institutions. With Israeli elections coming up, I do a thought experiment: what if the U.S. had the same institutions as Israel. It helps illuminates why Israel is on its present path. aaronmannes.substack.com/p/w…

Pence and Harris: former VPs who aren’t ready to exit the stage. The Philippines' VP is being pushed off the stage. In China, being VP is being pushed off the stage. This tells us something about their nation’s politics—so we analyze and report on them! aaronmannes.substack.com/p/w…

VPs besides Vance are doing stuff. Pence is creating an alternative to MAGA. The Philippines' VP is being tried for corruption. China's VP ispoke at the UN. Kamala Harris is gearing up to run for president. But VPs who lose rarely get a 2nd act. aaronmannes.substack.com/p/w…

Former Veeps are making moves here, while the VP of China addressed the UN, and the VP of the Philippines got very rich. Harris is running, maybe. Pence is trying to become a counter-MAGA pole within the GOP. It’s a Vanceless Veeply Roundup! aaronmannes.substack.com/p/w…

The Groyper/NatCon crew is celebrating how Vance won’t endorse Netanyahu. They say America First means staying out of foreign politics. The problem is Vance aggressively campaigned for Orban in Hungary. Team Vance isn’t appealing to any principles.

Netanyahu is Israel's longest-serving PM. He picked or influenced most of the senior intel & military brass. He chose to split Palestinians by propping up Hamas. He chose to block an independent Knesset or military commission of 10/7. He will never take responsibility.

CAIR is entitled to run campaigns to use gov force to marginalize Jews. This is the world they are helping build. Jews should not pull their punches when it comes to this bigotry and nobody should shy away from using gov force against this anti-American org.
The Connecticut chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations is running an antizionist campaign against a Reform Jewish children’s camp, pressuring Greenwich Public Schools to cancel a sixth-grade field trip to the site — URJ Eisner Camp in Great Barrington, Massachusetts — because of the camp’s ties to Israel. CAIR, an antizionist organization the federal government has previously linked to Hamas fundraising, says that even removing the camp’s Israeli flag and the yellow Israeli hostage ribbons it displays would not satisfy its objections to the site. Everyone wants to talk about AI. Serious people work on data. Questions about what is collected, how it is collected and maintained, must be at the forefront of building AI and making AI policy. aaronmannes.substack.com/p/a…

Data is hard, messy, and imperfect. But it is everything. If you want good AI (that is AI that is safe, secure, and useful), you need good data. The best AI, without good data, won’t be much good. Good data, without AI, is still a powerful resource. aaronmannes.substack.com/p/a…

People like Smotrich are unfit to serve in the state built by survivors of pogroms, the Shoah, and many ethnic expulsions. I encourage every diaspora Jew with ties in Israel to get your friends and family to vote against Bibi and his hateful stooges.
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich: We need to wipe out Gaza, for example. Not commit genocide, God forbid. Wipe out Gaza, because Gaza, as a terrorist entity, with 1.8 million Nazis ... should not exist.
