Presenting EXCALIBOARD, a complete file management system around Excalidraw Why I built it: I love Excalidraw, but it gives you one board. Every new idea meant wiping the last one or juggling .excalidraw files. So I built the workspace around it. No account. No servers. Everything stays on your machine. Free on the Chrome Web Store 👇 chromewebstore.google.com/de…

I have seen this heap-buffer-overflow error on LeetCode a hundred times but today I got chance to dig into this rabbit hole and to actually see what AddressSanitizer is actually doing under the hood I wrote a quick breakdown of how this hidden security system actually works.

Excalidraw is my favourite whiteboard, but the free version gives you one board, saved in your browser. Boards, folders and their MCP are part of Excalidraw+, which is paid and runs on their cloud. So I built Excalidraw Boards. Open source, and you host it yourself: > unlimited boards in nested folders > every board is a plain .excalidraw file on your own disk, and still opens on excalidraw.com > autosave, version history and a trash, so nothing gets lost > an MCP server, so Claude (or any MCP client) can read and draw on your boards > a board you have open updates live while the agent draws > agents can use your icon library, so AWS diagrams get real AWS icons I run it on my own server over Tailscale and connected it to Claude Code. Asking Claude to sketch a system design and watching it appear on my board has been a superb experience. Under the hood it's the official Excalidraw editor, not a fork. github.com/yashagw/excalidra…

finally set up server monitoring after a few OOM incidents , got CPU memory , disk and container stats across all 3 servers in one place. Also Tailscale is pretty cool ngl.

I launched my Chrome extension to 37 followers on X. It got 340 views. So I posted the exact same demo across 7 subreddits: • r/developersIndia: 7.2K views • r/Btechtards: 4.8K views • r/browsers: 3.0K views • r/SaaS: 2.3K views • r/indiehackersindia: 804 views • r/SideProject: 518 views • r/IMadeThis: 224 views Total in 5 days: 25,200+ Reddit views → 1,122 website visitors. 3 takeaways if you're launching with 0 followers: 1. Generic "launch" subs (r/IMadeThis) are dead - post where your actual users complain about their workflow. 2. Lead with the 10-second annoyance ("free Excalidraw only gives you one board unless you juggle .excalidraw files"). 3. Put good music on the demo video-half the comments either asked how I edited the video or said they were just vibin to the track.

i almost spent the afternoon building a custom inverted search index for Excaliboard. then i actually ran the benchmark first (160 elements/board, 400KB screenshots on 25% of them, CPU throttled 4x to simulate a slow laptop): • 100 boards (15 MB): 70ms cold → <1ms warm • 500 boards (74 MB): 250ms cold → ~2ms warm • 1,000 boards (148 MB): 480ms cold → ~3ms warm • 2,000 boards (296 MB): ~1s cold → ~7ms warm loading 6 boards at a time from IndexedDB means 0 long tasks and 0 UI freezes. scrapped the index , warming the cache on idle in 10 lines of code and shipping typo-tolerant fuzzy search instead so "kafak" still finds your kafka diagrams. benchmark before you over-engineer.
