these people belong in dog cages.
this is about me and i'm not sorry! i don't have time to autistically read forums and random team news or whatever. i'm sure spending hours and hours running your fantasy team is a good ROI if you're unemployed but some of us have jobs also my team is stacked so that's another point in the AI column

I love how frequently these dorks give the game away. these people genuinely believe the purpose of tech journalism is to uncritically repeat press releases and give the CEOs they like a platform to spout unchallenged lies
Yes? Why would you be a tech journalist if you hate technology?

if you want to see a lot of people fundamentally misunderstanding what the AP style guide is, and also getting red-assed mad that the AP won't say their computer program is alive, here's an entertaining post
Artificial intelligence systems do not think, feel, want or understand. Avoid language that gives them human characteristics. This is called anthropomorphizing, when we ascribe human traits, emotions or behaviors to non-human things, such as animals or inanimate objects. Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it. apnews.com/article/openai-sa…

A few more tweets from members of Congress condemning a streamer in defense of Israel and then Americans will be able to afford groceries. Keep posting. You're so close.

Even if you actually did prove to me that there would be a tangible positive impact on my life from constructing data centers, I'd still oppose constructing them because I hate everyone who's building them and think it would be funny to watch them fail.

ICE just invested $20M in shock gloves that drop resisting illegals into compliance in seconds. Non-lethal close-quarters control that changes the entire fight 🙌 Game on!!

daniel here pulled himself up by his bootstraps by starting his first company with a mere $3.3 million from "friends and family"
Many of the loser children of my wealthy friends who see no way to emulate the success of their parents, have gravitated toward Mamdani-ism and found community and a sense of purpose by rejecting capitalism as a way to cope with their own failure. Please note they have nor however rejected their trust funds or living subsidies while pursuing their “passions” in NGOs, dabbling in the arts or trying to invest their parents money in “VC”.

this is a fantastic anecdote, assuming the purpose of it is to display how thoroughly pathetic and groveling the average journalist is willing to be in return for some embarrassing adjacency to power.
Like anyone who’s spent any time around politics, I have many Lindsey Graham stories. This is perhaps my favorite… I was covering Congress (Best! Beat! Ever!) for the NYT when the Mother Emanuel shooting happened in Charleston. It was summer, but I was wearing pants and a sweater that day because it was always SO freezing in the Capitol. Anyhow, news of the shooting came down, and the DC Bureau chief called me with an order: Get yourself to Charleston ASAP and glue yourself to Graham’s side. She wanted a piece on the senator grappling with the unimaginable. So I headed straight to the airport, arriving in Charleston with just my backpack and what I’d be wearing to work that day, and linked up with Graham. He had me meet him at a restaurant, where I told him I needed to shadow him for the next 48 hours. And he looked at me, with amused distaste, and said: “You are sticky. And you are icky. If you want to shadow me, go buy some nice new clothes—maybe a dress—and take a shower, and then we’ll talk.” (He was not wrong; I was sweaty and gross). So I drove to a local big box store, bought a dress (he seemed to have a strong preference for a dress), and spent the next few days with him, resulting in this piece (which, for reasons not worth getting into, ended up being fairly different than the original assignment): nytimes.com/2015/06/20/us/po…

here's one of the dullest and most credulous people on here accidentally admitting that his entire worldview boils down to being mad that people don't think he's cool
You can identify all the greatest countries in the world by asking a simple question: "Is it cool to be rich there?" Countries that celebrate success and still have strong safety nets: Singapore, Denmark and Switzerland. Every country that has gotten the answer to this question wrong has become economically irrelevant and a vassal state of another. We should properly take care of everyone, but you need resources and leverage that only come in success. Many countries in Europe have become examples of not getting this right.

.@HiltonHotels is a franchisor of hotels. The problem was with a rogue franchisee. I spoke to the CEO of Hilton who said that the problem is now fixed.

Pursuing longevity forces you to spend all your time engaged in boring and inhuman practices thereby wasting the very thing you're extending, and that's so poetic and beautiful to me.
Bryan Johnson just announced he'll become Immortal by 2039. ‣ Biological age of 18 (he's 48) ‣ Spent $2M/year reversing aging ‣ Heart health better than 99% of 18-year-olds 4 protocols you can steal (for free) to reverse aging, boost energy, & look 10 years younger 👇🧵

who says these VC dorks aren't innovators? here's one with the brilliant idea of "DEI for right wing professors"
A crazy idea would be a mandate that federal funding for universities can only happen when/if the ideological balance of its professors are within +/- 20%. Any institutions that opts out/takes zero funding from the federal government (ie from taxpayers) can still do whatever they want. Assuming neither side is more wrong nor right, the debate and ultimate quality of students coming from schools with more ideological balance would be meaningfully better I suspect.

interesting to discover that Bill ackman hasn't responded to the allegations that he murdered dozens of male prostitutes. one can therefore only conclude that the information is correct.
I note that @CurtisSliwa has not chosen to challenge or correct anything in my post. One can therefore only conclude that my source is correct.

In America, military operatives from a tiny Middle Eastern country decide what university students are allowed to learn.
Cornell is cancelling a distinguished prof's classes on Gaza because of the complaints of a student who previously served in Israel's military surveillance agency and was literally recording the comments of other students in class and deliberately derailing discussion.
