They’re gonna defend her because there is no context on what it is that you’re upset about. People can’t say “Anele is a bad person” cause her sister said so on Twitter with no context. People have not experienced the “horrible” Anele so they can’t comment on that

B-BEE has implementation flaws, but saying it never benefitted the average South African ignores reality. If there was no legal or financial pressure, corporate SA would never have transformed voluntarily or funded the bursaries and jobs that built the Black middle class.

BEE policies extended to many areas of the economy particularly labour law. Many of us became degreed professionals because of bursaries and transformation targets that forced corporate South Africa to hire us. Thinking BEE is merely about procurement is right wing propoganda.

the ANC is so perfect on paper. its founding ideals are in the freedom charter. its legacy shaped by luthuli, mandela and sisulu. its values rooted in a history of liberation. all of that hollowed out by greed. we have one of the most progressive constitutions in the world, one of the most compelling liberation histories in the world but a political class that has failed to live up to either. the real tragedy.
