I believe that if you eat meat, it’s important to participate in the process.
Picking up packaged meat at the grocery store doesn’t unearth the same feelings that killing and butchering an animal does. It bypasses the sensitivity, the emotions, and the shock that you would feel during animal processing.
Even though I work for ranchers and am a big advocate for eating high quality pasture raised meat for human health, I still struggle with it sometimes. I love animals and feel connected to them.
You’re ingesting another life. You’re using its flesh to give you energy. Animals and humans may have different designs of consciousness, but we both have breath, life, unique frequencies, and energy. Both deserve honor and respect.
Instead of running from the difficult feelings and ignoring the killing and butchering process to keep myself comfortable, I participate. When I’m helping process animals, I think about my ancestors who did this for thousands of years before me. I express gratitude for the animal’s nourishment. I honor its body by using the energy and nutrients it gives me to positively contribute to the earth and humanity.
Not everyone needs to be a hunter, butcher, or rancher. I’m certainly not a professional and don’t want to do that full time. But I join the process when I can so I can pay my respects towards the animal. So I can have more gratitude for the ranchers who take on the burden of dealing with death every day so their communities can be nourished.
If you’re not quite ready to kill or handle a dead animal, simply praying for your meat and giving thanks for the animal before eating it is a great way to be more involved in the process. 🙏

Most people don't know this but Airplane Mode on @apple devices DOES NOT necessarily turn off WiFi and Bluetooth
What's even more interesting is that switching them off through Control Center doesn't fully disable the radios either
It just disconnects them temporarily.
And for some reason Apple decided those disconnections should expire at 5 AM .. weird!
So your iPhone could reconnect to WiFi in the middle of your sleep without you doing anything
I wonder how many people actually know this
Sometimes I get tired of living in Austin. And then sometimes I drive 7 minutes to get Michelin star bbq sourced from local farms.
My tried and true method for no burn tanning without sunscreen:
Expose as much skin as possible mid-morning at UVA rise. At least 20 minutes. This preps your skin by initiating melanin production, allowing you to better and more safely absorb UVB later in the day.
Staying inside all morning, going outside at noon, and then complaining that you are someone “who just burns easily” is a signaling and preparation issue, not a “you” issue.
Sometimes this crunchy hippie girl has to to swap the flowy pants and bare feet for real clothes and real shoes. But we always go wide toe box.

Never understood the hate around small talk. Talking to my 70 yr old neighbor about the weather, how terrible the tomato plants are doing, or how long her grass is getting always feels so grounding & human. Really takes me out of my schizoness and draws me back into this reality

> spend 9 months eating organic, taking prenatals, filtering your water
> BABY ARRIVES
> immediately place a 2.4 GHz microwave transmitter 1 meter from their skull
> call it a "baby monitor"
> wonder why the baby won't sleep
> doctor says it's normal
IT'S NOT NORMAL
>Their skulls are thinner.
>Their myelin isn't developed.
>They absorb MORE radiation, not less.
Unplug the monitor. Use a wired setup. Or just listen with your ears like every generation before you did.
I hate to break it to you, but the guy hiking everyday and eating cliff bars and drinking Gatorade, is healthier than the chronically indoors biohacker influencer with a perfect diet
It’s trippy living in Texas during the summer to fall transition. You see a clear change in the light spectrum, the leaves start to carry a faint brown, and there are breezes that graze your face that just feel “fall”. And yet, it’s still a furnace.

The best thing you can do for a Texas Panhandle rancher right now (and always, for that matter) is to get to know one and buy local beef. #txlege
How I look at the person working the farmer’s market booth who can’t tell me a single thing about their ‘organic’ farming practices
