Duplicating works, but if you run a team of bots it breaks their IDs and drops their learned memory. We found a cleaner fix: keep each bot's main chat to 1-step handoffs, store project state in a small status file on the computer, and have the bot spin up a fresh background worker for each task instead of resuming the old one. That way every heavy step runs in a clean ~5k context instead of re-reading a 20-day chat, and you never have to duplicate or rebuild your bots It cut our per-step context from ~200k tokens down to ~5k, and dropped our game builds from 7% of our weekly Super pool back down to ~1–2%.
