When my health tanks like it has, it’s a blessing and a curse. It means I’m forced to slow down. I HATE slowing down because I forces me to confront the brain worms. For the better part of my content creator life, I’ve been a military content creator and as I’ve stated before, I want to move a little further away from it. In reality it’s because I’ve made all the same 25 jokes about life in the Navy and I’ve been out for almost 4 years. I do political work for vets and sometimes, I just wanna stream and not talk about veteran life after debating all day. But it’s also made me think “who am I, outside the military and veteran space”. I’ll tell ya, it’s hard. So many parts of myself I either buried or discarded because they didn’t serve me in the time I was serving and transitioning to civilian life. Parts of me wish that 18 year old me knew herself better before signing. However, that’s the beauty of life. You’re always discovering who you are, what makes you tick. There is something so beautiful about having a clean slate. I get to choose who I want to be. It’s terrifying but also exhilarating.
