I have never denied that people who call themselves trans exist and in the UK, they rightly have exactly the same rights as every other citizen. What you want is for women to lose their sex-based rights to accommodate men who say they're women. That's the conflict.

Suppose a female academic turned up to lecture with an enormous prosthetic phallus on display. Or in blackface? Would the college say 'free expression, nothing to see here.'?
This stuff shouldn't be difficult.

Patrick Stewart. Turned up so early and so unobtrusively to be a star in the reasonably priced car, we mistook him for a delivery driver and asked him to go round the back. Took his hat off and said, “But I’m the captain of the Enterprise”. Fucking nice guy.

No one is challenging the existence of the infinite ways in which human misery and anxiety expresses itself. What many of us are challenging, is the notion that what a miserable and anxious child needs is irreversible, serious and unevidenced medical interventions.

Today, Goldsmiths has walked away from its planned Catford campus: 600+ students, a 10-year lease, millions of council investment.
The Green Mayor @LiamShrivastava promised hope. Where is it for Catford?

To announce my pronouns costs me an awful lot.
It says that I comply with and offer fealty to a quasi religious ideology that direct harms the rights of women, the safety of children and the rule of law.
I will not comply.

When the Guardian went on strike to protest the Observer sale, I became a de facto spokesperson. Later a Tortoise employee I’d never met wrote to me to cancel my 20-year contract. No goodbye & no pay-off. This is how they now take credit for my work..but write me out of the story

How did Southwark Green delegates vote at their conference? If they voted in favour of the motion this statement is void - and an insult to our local community.

Those of you who have, like me, knocked about on the Left for years, will recognize many of the anti-Zionists who have turned up in the GP. The same names and faces expelled from the Labour party, ex UCU activists, soixante-huitards from IS. There are new recruits but also the odd notorious Antisemite. This will be a victory night for them.
And a devastating night for environmentalism

Dear the BBC News (UK).
I see you forgot to add context to your clickbait again, so I'm here to help.
Richard Tice is lying. The announcement was made on 25th March 2026 and states that it will apply from that date.
NOT retrospective. NOT a change of rules.
You're welcome.

Be clear. Reform now has the resource to buy every billboard in the UK, blanket wall to wall advertising across written and broadcast media and saturation leafleting. The British will be blitzed into voting for the ultra right - against every best instinct. It is a dark moment.
