Today I turn 88…I’ve seen some serious shit. The most serious of it all is love. I love my family, my friends, and my wonderful fans. The power of love remains.

one of the deepest sicknesses in the world are the people who feel personally attacked over other people getting the same rights as them
Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito says in a new book that he believes the court's landmark decision extending marriage rights to same-sex couples was "perhaps the decisive point in our nation's turn against religious liberty."

Youre straight up a farm animal if youre a consumer and genuinely care about how much kojima's game is financially effecting sony or how appealing he is to investors
So Kojima has been dropped twice now for the exact same reasons, missing deadlines and going over budget.
The reason Chris Nolan is so beloved by film studios is he makes certified hits and he comes in under budget every single time. Kojima does neither of those these days so from a financial standpoint what is the point of bankrolling these massive projects in a mature market where AAA costs are already unsustainable ???
I also think it’s in bad taste for Microsoft to bank roll a guy known for inflated budgets while simultaneously laying off over 1600 people and there are still more layoffs to come!!
It’s like “hey devs at ID Software sorry we are laying you off but here ya go Kojima here’s $500 million to make Physint.” 🙄

OpenAI and Anthropic’s models are so magical and mystical and dangerous, they can do anything! They may even destroy the world! The only thing they can’t do, funny enough, is generate positive cash flow. And that’s where the US Taxpayer comes in!

Kojima went lean, set the game in a deathworld, scanned as much as possible so CG artists wouldnt have to work like slaves, and delivered each game in 2-3 years of dev time, but people still think it went overbudget because he got the guy who played Mussolini in a streaming show.

The AI Race:
AI is probably the biggest prisoner’s dilemma we’ve ever created. Everyone knows slowing down might be safer. But if OpenAI slows down and Anthropic doesn’t, OpenAI loses. If the US slows down and China doesn’t, the US loses. So nobody slows down.
That’s what makes this so insane. You don’t need some evil person trying to destroy the world. You just need a bunch of people making the rational decision for themselves over and over until collectively we’ve raced somewhere none of us actually wanted to go.
It’s a race to zero. Zero cost of intelligence. Zero time between thinking and doing. Maybe eventually zero need for us at all.

"could the way a character speaks be part of their character" listening to gamers is like watching cavemen discover fire
Interesting detail about Jason’s voice
In Trailer 2, there’s a scene where Lucia teases Jason for mumbling. What’s interesting is that it seems like she’s specifically mocking the way he said something earlier in the clip something we never actually hear.
Could this be a subtle indication that Jason’s mumbling and the way he speaks are intentional parts of his character? It might suggest that his voice, delivery, and speech patterns are more distinctive than we’ve seen so far, rather than the mumbling simply being a one off moment.
