I’ll give myself a deadline of solstice. 🥶
I’ll give myself a deadline of Friday before Christmas. 🥶
(This afternoon: I’ll give myself a deadline of NYE. 🤷🏼♀️)
I guess I’ll give myself a lifeline and say screw it—all can wait. Time to rest.

The story offers several lessons. My favorite is that learning is just a profound mystery involving the whole person, and that nobody can say in advance or in the abstract how it may happen. Growth like this is possible (I testify), but the key is to be open to its manifestation.

A letter. A drawing. A cutting from a plant. A phone call. A photograph actually printed. A pastry. A bouquet of anything from anywhere. Origami. A pretty rock.
Yesterday, just down the way from a job site, this favorite oak of mine.

Be pleased to walk alone

“2. Modern society calls the beggar
bum and panhandler
and gives him the bum’s rush.
But the Greeks used to say
that people in need
are the ambassadors of the gods.”

Spotify Wrapped, but for number of childhood hours spent listening to Adventures in Odyssey, Focus on the Family, and Rush Limbaugh. (“That’s more than 88% of other listeners in the United States.”)
On morphing.
