Fox interviews a guy who claims he went to heaven for 18 days. He can report that Jesus is not only male but about 5’11 or 6 feet tall and really masculine. “Talk about testosterone. Like a mustang.” It’s over for the Talarico campaign.

Anne Frank once wrote: “Some of the best days of our lives haven’t happened yet.” That line hits differently the day after Yom Kippur. Yesterday, we looked backward. We confessed. We remembered. We apologized. We faced the pages of our story we wish we had written differently. But today? Today we begin writing again. What if the greatest laughter of your life hasn’t been laughed yet? What if the deepest love you’ll ever know is still ahead? What if the healing you’ve been praying for has already begun? Yom Kippur was never meant to leave us staring at our mistakes. It was meant to remind us that we are bigger than them. You are not sentenced to repeat yesterday. The Book of Life may be sealed, but your story is still being written. So walk into this new year a little lighter. A little braver. A little more open. Some of your best days haven’t happened yet. Go meet them. — Rabbi Yisroel Bernath

I've read the Bill quickly. Some quick thoughts before I have time to write a longer piece. It preserves and expands on the right of a single Minister to end strikes/lockouts by "email fiat": ordering CIRB to end a strike because Minister thinks its a good idea. 🧵 1/
Reporter: You are flooding the zone with a really dense bill across a wide array of issues. It's very Trumpian. Patty Hajdu: What we're doing is we're responding to a crisis.

Canada has advanced to the quarterfinals of the U20 Women's World Cup in Poland, going further than the US. AFC Toronto's Kaylee Hunter scores three to eliminate France 3–1. Canada vs either North Korea or Japan on Sunday.

Metrolinx says it is cutting train service “to support our rail partner with their advancement of crew training & certification.” In other words, the private contractor that operates the GO rail system failed to hire & train enough workers. See: seanmarshall.ca/2026/08/29/g… #onpoli

A woman one month into a new job at the FDA was handed an application to approve a sleeping pill. It looked routine. They gave it to her because she was new and it seemed like an easy one to start on. She read the file and something was missing. No evidence at all that the drug was safe in pregnancy, and it was being sold as a remedy for morning sickness. The drug was thalidomide, and West Germany was getting through a million doses a day. Frances Kelsey asked for more data. The company sent representatives to her office, then telephoned her at all hours, then went over her head to her supervisors. Between them they contacted her and her boss around fifty separate times. She later said most of what they called her could not be printed. Ten million tablets were already sitting in warehouses waiting for her signature. She said no six times. And while she held the line, doctors in Germany and Australia were piecing together what was happening to babies whose mothers had taken it. Limbs that had never formed, hands and feet attached directly at the shoulder and hip, in at least 4,000 children across Europe. The company withdrew its American application in 1962. Seventeen cases turned up in the United States, all from free samples doctors had handed out before any approval. Without her it would have been thousands. Congress passed a new law that same year requiring companies to prove a drug is both safe and effective, and requiring informed consent from anyone in a trial. Those rules are now used worldwide. Kennedy gave her the highest civilian award in the country and she was the second woman ever to receive it. She stayed at the FDA another 45 years and died in 2015 at 101. Every American woman handed a pill in pregnancy is downstream of one woman refusing to sign a form six times while men shouted at her. smithsonianmag.com/science-n…

Brutal lack of context from @robertbenzie on @FrontBurnerCBC recently saying "maybe in Canada we don't have the tradition of rail travel you have in Europe or even in China." Come on. These were rail routes in 1955. Politicians (especially Mulroney and Chretien) destroyed it.

It’s time to break up the grocery monopoly. There’s a clause hiding in grocery store leases that keeps your bill high, and most people have never heard of it. It’s called a property control, and the giant chains use it to block competitors from opening anywhere near them. Doug Ford voted against banning them. Watch me explain what he’s protecting, in 60 seconds.

John Turner correctly warned Canadians about the consequences of free trade with the U.S. His concerns were rejected by Canadian voters at the time, and his political career never recovered. Turner might be the most vindicated Canadian PM of all time.

FACT: Ford has the greatest deficit in Ontario's history and has never balanced a budget. The idea that Conservatives are more prudent with tax dollars is a complete fabrication. Pass it on....
As Premier Doug Ford was asked about the OSAP changes, he thundered back, calling the Ontario Liberals a "bunch of amateurs" who would bankrupt a lemonade stand. Note: Under Ford, Ontario's debt will grow to half-a-trillion and the budget has yet to be balanced. #onpoli
