I fear that at some point Wes Anderson will travel back in time, get stranded in the 1980's, and end up directing this FedEx commercial as an SOS to us in the future.

I was the guest on the most recent installment (#138) of the podcast #ComicsfortheApocalypse. I had a lot of fun blathering at great length on a subject I know very little about. (An activity that has been the cornerstone of my career.)

Unless you throw in some chases and fights a mystery is essentially a book about going around and talking to people. It's the story of one person's quest for more exposition.
I see there’s a new Scooby Doo movie on the way. Ah, takes me right back to my childhood. I didn’t particularly want to watch Scooby Doo back then either.
There's nothing concrete at the moment, but I have an idea I'm playing with about Miller, Murphy, and Jimmy traveling the country looking for people who found the file, like Prof. Xavier and Magneto recruiting young mutants. #AudibleChat

Hey @binstructions and @luckylukeekul, final question: what's next in the Magic 2.0 series!?
I plan things out in advance, which helps me avoid writing myself into a corner. My big time sink is knowing that I need a joke in a certain spot, and knowing exactly how the joke should work, but not quite having the joke, if that makes sense. #AudibleChat
Scott, do you spend more time writing? Or more time not writing yourself into a corner? #AudibleChat
I don't think I've ever written anything I like more than the spider skeleton argument from An Unwelcome Quest. #AudibleChat
There's a version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy read by Stephen Fry that I listened to many, many times. (I know, you're shocked to hear that I'm a Douglas Adams fan.) #AudibleChat

Here’s a question for both @binstructions and @luckylukeekul! What’s your favorite Audible book? (aside from your own of course haha)
I'd probably wait until I get one of my books back from my proofreader, then go back in time and make all of the corrections before I send it to them, just to see how they respond to gettign a typo-free manuscript from me #AudibleChat
Oh man. I would totally trap another version of myself and make him record and I would play with puppies #AudibleChat
Either one! #AudibleChat
Helpful as in I learned how to say them? or helpful in that I got a good laugh? #AudibleChat
Thanks! I used to be in a job where I did a lot of distance driving, and audiobooks kept me sane. The idea that anything I wrote is making traveling easier for someone means a great deal to me. #AudibleChat
#AudibleChat no question just a massive thank you to both @binstructions and @luckylukeekul for an amazing series with Magic 2.0 got me through a lot of traveling away from my family. Currently listening to The Vexed Generation. You guys fucking rock!
Yes. When I was gearing up to write the 4th, 5th, and 6th Magic 2.0 books, I listened to the first three. I also listened to Master of Formalities on a long road trip. Well done on all of them, by the way. #AudibleChat

I will be watching very closely for the answer to this one. #AudibleChat

We’ve got one for @luckylukeekul! Do you ever ad-lib lines that make it into the final product?
Daydreaming, yes. In class, no. There's no specific work I can point to, but I did hear about the idea that we live in a computer program, which led to the idea of finding the program somehow, and from there Martin's mistakes are the exact ones I would make. #AudibleChat

@binstructions The premise is so unique that it makes me feel a lot of your inspiration came from daydreaming in class as a kid. Would I be wrong or are there specifics works you got the inspiration from? Probably both but would love to know
The rights were under option somewhere, but they've reverted back to me, and we're shopping them around now. I'd love to see it work out, but really, there are a million ways for a book NOT to get made into a TV show or movie. #AudibleChat
No plan for a Rocket Hat book, but I do have an idea floating around for one about the Knifeketeer in which Rocket Hat would probably turn up. #AudibleChat

Question for Scott (@binstructions ): Any plans for a book about Rocket Hat? I love all your books and am a big fan of the strip you wrote, but that character is my favorite. #AudibleChat
I'll tell you, I got really used to having easy, unfettered access to world-class theme parks. Knowing that if you're bored on a weekend you can just drive 10 minutes and go to Disney World is really nice.

I don't! Quite the opposite. Most of the things I wrote in the book insulting them were things people said to me when I admitted to liking them. 1- #AudibleChat
I don't have a favorite, but Phillip's the one who is closest to my actual personality, and the Brits are the most fun to write dialog for. #AudibleChat
For legal reasons, no. Emphatically not. The fact that I know a Seattle Policeman named Kyle who plays the bagpipes is just a coincidence. #AudibleChat

#audiblechat Scott, is there a special ‘Kyle’ in your life? I noticed both the policeman that keeps giving Jimmy, Miller and Murphy laptops and one of the Scotsmen are both named ‘Kyle’. Is it possible they are the same Kyle?
