"University researchers built a satellite that tracks people from low Earth orbit and dispatches a 5 kg payload to within .1 meter of their position, traveling at Mach 25 to anywhere on Earth in under 5 minutes. They suggest it could be used to deliver greeting cards."
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks. By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time. Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

Hard not to notice what a losing hand guys like Bret are stuck with. Had to go from talking about the "kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful country in the world!" to a blanket demand that everyone just stop talking or knowing anything about Israel.
NYT's Bret Stephens whines that Democrats know "Smotrich and Ben-Gvir" but not "the interior minister of Japan." Their "obsession" with Israel drives him "crazy." (Being politically informed on Israel is now anti-Semitic.)

Being an american Maoist in the 70s must have been so humilating. You were getting your skull caved in by a cop, Little Red Book in hand, meanwhile Mao was hanging out with Kissinger going "Dude your wife is so hot.".
Happy Kissinger introducing Mao to his tall wife day to all who celebrate

Very funny seeing people use "Paul never met Jesus" to claim he shouldn't be listened to when they also did not not meet Jesus and yet do expect to be listened to
I’ve always thought it insane half the New Testament is written by a guy who never met Jesus but claims to be an apostle and it fundamentally changes the religion from a radical Gnostic thing to a useful shabbos goy blood atonement sort of thing. Not worth arguing over but valid.

Paul at least knew all the people who had met Jesus in the flesh, something none of these people can claim

We had September 11 and then we didn’t have another date for like, 20 years. Then we had January 6. Then suddenly soon after that October 7. The rate at which we develop new dates is accelerating

Healthy or not, this isn't new! Politically engaged people in 19th Century Europe were intensely interested in what happened in other countries; in 1820s newspapers foreign news usually came *before* domestic news — even really big domestic news.
Earnest take: I think it’s probably not healthy for the practice of democratic self-government that so many people have developed strong rooting interests in elections in countries they don’t live in.

If you're a single-issue gas price voter, you should probably spend like 5 minutes looking up how oil prices work. You'd learn that the US president has very little impact on them unless they do something crazy like shut down a pathway for a quarter of the world's oil.

Most intense DSA conflict: that is IT! We have decided we will NOT be Pokémon going to the polls. Libertarian subplot on a random Monday:
The Libertarian Party candidate for North Carolina state senate is currently in the midst of an armed chase and shoot-out with the cops, keeping us posted with live tweets:
