When the Airfield Goes to Sea
October 27 marks Navy Day in the United States, an occasion to look back on an important chapter of the Korean War: carrier aviation.
On July 3, 1950, aircraft from the American carrier USS Valley Forge and the British HMS Triumph launched the conflict's first carrier air strikes. For these aviators, the journey into combat over Korea began on a ship's flight deck.
Korea brought two eras of aviation together: piston-powered Corsairs and Skyraiders operated alongside Panther jets. Carrier aircraft supported ground troops and attacked airfields, bridges, and railway communications. Once their missions were complete, pilots faced another challenge - finding their way back to a moving carrier and landing on its confined flight deck.
Deck Ops focuses on this side of the air war, our upcoming expansion for Korea. IL-2 Series. Five new carrier-based aircraft and an Essex-class aircraft carrier will open the game's next chapter. The expansion is planned for release in Q1 2027.
And there's more on carrier aviation today! Our latest dev diary is out now, taking you inside the cockpit of the F9F-2 Panther for a detailed look at its instruments and controls.

The DSA is not just coming for California. They are coming for the whole country. California is just the most far gone. A captured state. The marxists/socialists have no intention of stopping where they are now or backing down. They use a process called fractionalization - where they just keep moving the goalposts little by little. When they get too much pushback, they stop, freeze & wait for it to pass. The they move forward again. A never-ending process of encroachment & infiltraton.

When both afterburners ignite, the F-15J turns fuel into an enormous surge of thrust, driving the fighter into a steep climb.
Japan’s F-15J Eagle uses two turbofan engines with afterburners to deliver the acceleration needed for rapid climbs and high-speed interception. The trade-off is much higher fuel consumption in exchange for a substantial boost in thrust.
The white vapor forming around the aircraft adds another layer to the spectacle. As pressure drops around the wings during manoeuvres, moisture in the air can condense into visible clouds, briefly revealing the airflow around the jet.
Built for air superiority, the F-15J combines raw engine power with an airframe designed to turn that thrust into exceptional climb performance.

What if we could build our DCS missions in FULL 3D?
Check out the TGFB 3D Editor concept! 👀 A new way to visualize unit placement and interact with the DCS world directly in 3D.
It's still a demo, but the potential is fascinating! 🤔

WOW: Republicans point out the contrast between common sense and Democrat radicalism
They say “America deserved 9/11”
They say “defund police—and prisons”
They say “free stuff for illegals”—that you pay for.
What a disaster!

🔥🇪🇸 BREAKING: CARS SET ABLAZE IN BILBAO!
This is from earlier this evening in Bilbao, Spain, near the University of Deusto.
Where they were protesting anti-fascism by setting shit on fire… very logical!
Do people in Europe not have jobs to go to and families to support?
Seriously, WTF do they want? Better living conditions, or just mayhem?
I’m guessing they just want mayhem!

"The system's broken" says Gavin Newsom.
Oh FFS. You ARE the system! You've run California for eight years. You had a Democrat supermajority. You could do anything you wanted.
We got the highest poverty rate, unemployment rate and cost of living in the country. Vote for CHANGE!
UNDERCOVER: GAVIN NEWSOM SAYS THE DSA IS "GOING TO BE DOMINANT" AND "MAINSTREAM" IN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY!
"The DSA, the energy and the desire and demand for bold change, not incremental change, is very much going to be dominant. I mean, that's going to be a mainstream Democratic movement. Absolutely. No question about that."
That's California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a likely 2028 presidential candidate, speaking to an undercover journalist while campaigning in New Hampshire.
Asked by a "younger voter" who said "we don't want Kamala Harris, we want more democratic socialist policies":
"No one is arguing to manage the status quo and fail more efficiently."
"You can't play in the margins anymore. The system's broken. It's completely unbalanced, and we can't manage the decline. We have to completely reimagine."
