Math doesn’t add up
Round 1: 🏆Bolsonaro: 56.1 million votes Lula: 53.9 million votes Round 2: 🏆Lula: 64.1 million votes (+10.2M) Bolsonaro: 59.8 million votes (+3.7M) To give you an idea of how unlikely this is: all the eliminated candidates from round 1 got 9.33M VOTES COMBINED

FIRST ROUND The candidates who finished in: 3rd) Augusto Cury: 3,448,569 votes 4th) Renan Santos: 2,675,887 votes 5th) Ronaldo Caiado: 2,605,148 votes 6th) Romeu Zema: 326,488 votes TOTAL: 9,056,092 votes SECOND ROUND Lula received 10,376,694 more votes than he did in the first round. It’s as if he had secured every single vote cast for these candidates, none of whom are left-wing, plus another 1,320,602 votes, becoming the most popular president in Brazil’s entire history. THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE. UNACCEPTABLE! Especially since the vote counting was halted for two hours.

Revolut founder Nik Storonsky says one of his investors tried forcing him to fire his best person: “He was forcing me to fire my best person, because he was too hardcore.” “Of course I didn’t fire him. I said no.” “Pretty early on I realized that quite a few VCs, they are not very operational, and they can be actually dangerous for the company if they have enough power. So every single investment round, we just remove VCs.” “Now I don't have any VCs on the board. I think that's the best. You always need to have operators rather than VCs on the board, people who actually build business and who know how to do things.”
Nik Storonsky is one of the most hardcore and competitive founders I’ve ever talked to. He’s the founder of Revolut, a $115 billion company, and wants to be the number one bank in 100 countries. When someone asked Nik if he was coming for Jamie Dimon's lunch, he said “I’m coming for his dinner.” “We want to dominate, otherwise what’s the point?” He removed every VC from his board, and when one investor pushed him too far, he started his own fund to compete with them. Nik has a lot of ideas on talent, product design, marketing, constraints, and what makes founder-led companies special. This is a fascinating conversation about competition, speed, and building a machine-like company. 0:00 Coming for Jamie Dimon's dinner 2:04 Building the #1 bank in 100 countries 6:12 Why founders beat professional CEOs 8:45 Revolut's biggest mistake 12:47 Why legacy banks can't innovate 17:20 Running a company like a machine 20:28 Funding winners and cutting losers like a trader 23:31 How AI is changing Revolut's team structure 25:23 50 direct reports and spreading innovation fast 29:59 Hiring self-guided missiles 33:31 Too much money makes founders weaker 37:38 What Europe's constraints taught Revolut 41:08 Why VCs are like football cheerleaders 49:28 Starting a fund to compete with VCs 54:28 From zero marketing to buying Europe's airports 1:00:21 Funding moonshots like a global tech company 1:03:58 Building an unstoppable machine Includes paid partnerships.

Cool idea. We constantly do this at Laurus. Feels like something big platforms would absorb into a native product, though.
Moving Atoms (YC S26): Scan to Sim is here. Send us a LiDAR or SLAM scan of your factory floor, warehouse or yard, from any scanner. Upload multi-gigabyte scans straight from your browser (up to 200 GB per file). Within 48 hours you get back a simulation-ready digital twin of your real site. Every object is separated and editable, and accurate robot embodiments are placed right on your floor: autonomous forklifts, pallet AMRs, tuggers, tote robots and palletizing arms. Test the workflow before you build it. Try layouts, fleet sizes and routes, then watch the whole operation run sped up, before a single robot arrives on site.

These 3.5 seconds did more to fortify American Identity than any establishment politician or political party in the last generation. 100 years of neoliberal rule was vaporized in 3.5 seconds. Rejoice, we are still America. 🇺🇸

“It was a flex with no commercial value”
Two takeaways from tonight’s Roadster event. 1. It was an engineering flex with no commercial value beyond embarrassing traditional car makers. 2. Elon can’t wait to bring $TSLA and $SPCX together.

Vibe manufacturing: what dads have been doing in their garages since the bronze age
Vibe manufacturing is here. I gave Astra a STEP214 CAD model, PDF drawing and our machine model: Makino N2-5XA. It produced a full machining plan and drafted the G-code. My best CNC technician, with 25+ years’ experience, said the simulation matched his manual CAM configuration. This is sick!

I always find it surprising when VCs in new tech waves get overly hung up on business quality / metrics (TAM, quality of revenue, margin, etc.). Disruptive tech always precedes figuring out the business model. Hell, we didn't monetize the Internet for years.

Technical moats are mostly over at this point. If you’re building something that is meant to be durable, the only moats now are: • Proprietary data • Network effects • A physical component
