I stole some of Mike Flanagan's time to ask him about THE EXORCIST: MARTYRS and what he meant by calling it the "scariest" film he's ever made.

Austin Abrams is great. Duffield remains one of My Fave Dudes. But the second I got home from #Whalefall, I immediately called my dad like it was the damn courtroom scene in Big Daddy.
Came back to this hell site because @hbomax sent me a cake of my own head in the #Backrooms and it’s so accurate I’m not going to sleep for a week.
Haven’t seen the movie yet? Go watch it on streaming and come back so you can share this nightmare with me.
Ah, yes. And The Simpsons is remembered as a 1980s show because it technically premiered in 1989.
Sesame Street came out in 1969, not the 1970s.

I’ll be brave enough to say it: #Insidious: Out of the Further is the best PG-13 horror release of the year so far. Some absolutely killer set pieces overcome the story’s cornier aspects — but man, this is such a fun watch with a crowd.

I think publicly grading queer art on a curve is actual not helpful for the growth of artists, audiences, or the wellbeing of the critical community/space.
Everything I like about #Moana is because I love Moana. Catherine Laga'aia holds her own against a nippleless Dwayne Johnson playing the role that was made for him, but the wayfaring scenes are distracting and uncanny compared to the gorgeous animation of the original.

I adored SUPERGIRL, a movie about a hero who stumbles and still finds a way forward to remind us that our lowest moments do not dictate the limits of what we're capable of accomplishing.

Milly Alcock is a fantastic Kara, and #Supergirl is an entertaining (and sometimes depressing) take on True Grit in space. Jason Momoa was born to play Lobo, and Eve Ridley shines as Ruthye. Some of the CGI is ugly, but I will always be on board with a messy superheroine.
New Review! #ToyStory5 is a nuanced exploration of the necessity of human connection and proof that the best thing a movie franchise can do is grow with its audience.

Regardless of how you feel about MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, director Travis Knight and star Nicholas Galitzine are not trying to be ironic or tongue-in-cheek. They are being sincere. And it's not on them if people don't believe it.

The YouTube-to-Horror Feature Filmmaker pipeline is very real, but we must acknowledge who has access to it in the first place. YouTube is not
a democratized platform, and we're doing the next generation of creatives a disservice by pretending it is.

. #Backrooms is a skin-crawling, liminal nightmare. Even if the existing web series works better for the seemingly infinite possibilities found in the world Parsons created, it's an arresting triumph and one of the strongest debuts in years.
Full Review: slashfilm.com/2176810/backro…
.#MastersOfTheUniverse works as well as it does because Nicholas Galitzine can play both of these characters. Yes, he's also great in RWRB, but the spectrum between JEFF! and Prince Adam/He-Man in terms of masculine exploration is the crux here.
While I’m here, if you’re invited to a world premiere and you text in the theater the whole time, I actually hate you and I hope any articles you publish or content you make FLOPS.
I HAVE THE POWER to tell you that #MastersOfTheUniverse is what happens when you watch the cartoon, grab your action figures, & make your own adventure. An absolute blast, laugh out loud funny, and a Fisto-powered punch of heart. I loved it. Everything you could want.
Had the chance to chat with #MastersOfTheUniverse director, Travis Knight, and I am even more excited to see He-Man's return to live action. Here are my 5 biggest takeaways from our small-group interview!
