Today's Rare Pepe Lore Lesson™️ is Series 11, Card 43 - PEPETRODOL by an unknown artist. This is a 1/1,000 card with a current floor price of 0.005 BTC ($403 USD).
82 wallets hold a copy of this card and the largest controls 79.3% of the total supply (793/1,000). That wallet was last active 8 years ago.
The image used on the card is a photograph of oil wells near Teapot Dome, Wyoming. It was taken in 1973 by Boyd Norton for the U.S. National Archives. The photo is part of a larger series called "DOCUMERICA: The Environmental Protection Agency's Program to Photographically Document Subjects of Environmental Concern".
The image first appeared online on 9 Nov 2009 and it is now the main image for the Wikipedia entry, "Teapot Dome scandal."
To the original photograph, the artist added a smug pepe with a cowboy hat on to further the western motif and they also added Pepecash logos to the oil pumps on the part that is known as the Horse head.
The card name is a play on the phrase Petrodollars which simply means dollars paid to oil-producing nations.
The kanji at the top right means kami or shin - Japanese for “god,” “deity,” or “divine spirit.” It's also the symbol used on Yu-Gi-Oh! cards that have the DIVINE attribute. It also includes 5 Level Stars meaning this card would be a Level 5 monster in that game.
All of this should be ignored though because according to @Carsonated, Wyoming Doesn't Exist.

Today's Rare Pepe Lore Lesson™️ is Series 7, Card 15 PEPERARE by @shawnleary. This is a 1/100 card with a circulating supply of 30 after 70 were sent to a burn address approximately 45 minutes after it was minted.
There are none for sale as of the time of this writing. The last sale occurred 5 Feb 2023 for $32,335 USD.
23 wallets hold a copy of this card and the largest controls 23% of the circulating supply (7/30) along with a full LORDKEK and 18 RAREPEPE. That wallet hasn't had any activity in the last 7 years which makes it one of the most valuable lost wallets of all time.
Shawn commissioned PEPERARE as a homage to RAREPEPE, and the result is a thing of beauty! The Matrix-inspired background from the original was animated, a spinning Bitcoin logo was introduced, and a simulated chrome-foil shimmer was added to complete the effect.
