Capitalism teaches us to ASSUME the worst about the poor.
Scripture teaches us to defend and dignify them.
note:
If people lacked the cognitive ability and the WILL before AI to interrogate their own assumptions and spot flawed logic, using A.i. won't change anything for them.
A.I. can't fix intellectual dishonesty and laziness
"Yes, let them die"
I remember this debate very well.
It's at this point where I said I'm done with the republican party.
And then of course Trump came along and cemented it
Somone told me that we don't live under the same system as the Bible of course to imply that capitalism is pereft
Funny cus folks from the same circle like to use the Bible to argue FOR capitalism and weaponize it against the poor.
So I'm wondering, which is it??
"Just-world" fallacy dressed up as personal testimony.
Taking his own narrow slice of observation, generalizing it across millions and millions of people, and using it to declare that the entire economic system is a perfect meritocracy.
Speaking of lazy

How odd. Because we don't live under the same systems that are described in the Bible. I've lived in the US all my life. I've seen people free to make whatever choices they wanted. I've watch kids since high school chasing fruitless pursuits, wasting their time, their talents and their lives feeding their endless desires for pleasure, avoiding responsibility for their poor choices, avoiding hard work, and blaming everyone around them for their failures. Instead of taking that extra shift, instead of improving themselves, learning new skills and trades, instead of delaying gratification, pissing away their lifeblood via reckless spending, flashy cars, flashy houses and vacations, and poor partner selection. I'm not interested in hearing about how people are being oppressed when I've watched these same people be the biggest thorn in their own pursuit of happiness. THEY, themselves, are first and foremost, the reason they have not succeeded in life. Do bad things happen? Sure. Do people get taken advantage of? Sure. I've been on the receiving end of plenty of that. But I learned from my mistakes and position myself better the next time. I sacrificed to get where I am. I put in the effort. I continue to put in the effort. In the US, your choices are the single largest influence on your outcome.
If I lived in Israel circa 2300 BC, then yeah, I'd agree with you. But I live circa now AD. In the United States. And what I have is because I have earned it through hard work, sacrifice, self improvement and a relentless pursuit of things that have actual value.
If you pursued other things and regret it, don't come knocking on my door because you made poor decisions in your life. Not interested.
Within a free market, we make the mistake of treating the free market like a moral report card. We assume every wealthy person got there through noble grit, honesty and ingenuity, while treating every poor personβs struggle as proof of laziness or poor judgment. False.
There is nothing wrong with capitalism in theory. The issue is deifying it as a flawless system or worse, knowing full well it isn't, but pretending it is so you can hide the exploitation and peddle the lie that anyone struggling simply didn't work hard enough.
Capitalist: People are poor because they're lazy. ANYONE can make it if they just work hard.
Scripture (In order of prominence): People are poor because of-
-Injustice, Exploitation, and Corrupt Systems
-Calamity, Loss, and Natural Hardship
-Choices (a few verses in proverbs)
The label βpro lifeβ is easy.
But being βwhole lifeβ is hard
Because you have to move past your prejudices, biases, ideological beliefs, perceptions, etc to care about people who society says are not worth caring about.
This is funny
Barack Obama: "The president wasn't even mad about the Saddam Hussein comparison! That part didn't bother him. But he was very upset about the Cheesecake Factory comments. He took great umbrage. The mobilized a whole of government response to that joke! They told the Treasury Secretary to hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory. This really happened." π₯
There is nothing courageous about racism or lying
When leaders speak candidly, Americans respond well. RFK Jr. is courageous:
βThere's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't produce literature. All of that tradition has been destroyed by the Muslim Brotherhood. They have created stagnant societies.β
"And when you pray"
Public prayers that are really sermons, condescending or rebukes aimed at others are not prayers at all.
This guy has already recieved his reward.
Another holy spirit junior
Obama says women were literally grabbing his butt while he was President⦠and the Secret Service just let it happen.
βBy the time people really knew who I was, I was already 43. I was married with two kids, had done regular stuff like grocery shopping and washing my car. So when that kind of attention finally came, I wasnβt really tripping on it.β
βThere were times women acted in ways that were a little inappropriate. There are even pictures online of women grabbing my butt while I was President.β
βMostly older ladies, so the Secret Service wasnβt about to tackle them or wrestle them to the ground.β
βMy wife is an extraordinary woman and an amazing partner, so you just try to stay focused and on the straight and narrow.β
βKids change everything too. The thought of disappointing them? Iβm not going there.β
Dang
A smackdown if I ever heard one.
@stephenasmith just needs to tap out.
Capitalism does include envy
That's where we get the phrase keeping up with the jones' from

and yet nowhere does scripture condemn capitalism or any kind of activity (business, free trade, etc) that resembles capitalism. I'd say socialism rewards envy which scripture also condemns.
Scripture condemns socialism because scripture condemns envy
But scripture doesn't condemn capislims though scripture condemns materialism and greed
