I am so proud to be part of the @BoredApeYC
Apparently i’m the second oldest member of the @pudgypenguins Huddle.
Pudgy unc status confirmed.
the new Pudgy Huddle has a pretty interesting flex
not floor price. not rarity
how long you've been part of the Huddle
some of these OGs go all the way back to 2021

this might be my last normal tweet before NFTs go vertical
i’m not a whistleblower. i don’t work at Yuga, Opensea or any of the big marketplaces...
...but there is a massive shift happening in culture right now
it’s sitting in Discord announcements and almost nobody reads them.
the last few cycles alone:
Fidenza bois proved 999 outputs of a single algorithm could be a blue chip. generative art became an asset class
Algobots: a script drew robots and collectors held them like heirlooms. machine-made art, human conviction
@MeebitsNFTs handed out 20,000 3D avatars before the metaverse had anywhere to put them. they’re still waiting at the door
6529 memes turned open edition cards into a working thesis on decentralisation... a network state you collect one card at a time
world of women made representation an onchain primitive. tokenized identity with a point of view
photographers who mint put the shot, the edition and the provenance in one file. the darkroom now has a block explorer
@thelinegallery hung up to 1,000 cryptoartists on physical walls in hastings, nz. the blockchain has a front door and a fridge
@token_works built a machine that buys punks off the floor with trading fees, relists them and burns its own token. defi developed taste
marfa: people flew to a desert town in texas to look at code. on purpose. generative art got its pilgrimage
trashart made the bin a medium. the market agreed
squiggles that move. you click them. they move. this was the genesis of @artblocks_io and grown adults are still clicking
kevin. a pepe called kevin. no roadmap, no utility, no explanation. weighty pixels for the entire culture
@osseneth sympathizers have formed a movement. nobody outside it knows what it is. nobody inside it will say
the @argonauts9999 are a fleet of pixel sailors and your pfp is now a seat at the oars. tokenized identity has entered its rowing era.
we are on the verge of an era where culture is a software problem and the mint cycle gets shorter every day
stick around, it’s going to get weird

More than half a decade of being in the huddle went by as if we were hatching those eggs and going through waves upon waves of drama just a few months ago,
I guess time truly flies when you’re having fun,
And it’s been always a fun time being a @pudgypenguins
Kudos to @LucaNetz & Co for highlighting provenance records and TDH in the new Huddle site.
The Pengu Winter ahead will be nuts.

This bronze sculpture broke the ATH record for an Iranian artwork and sold for a bit above $1 million at the Tehran Auction of contemporary arts and made a lot of headlines
Mostly the usual “its money laundering” or the lovely “this is so ugly, i could’ve made it too”
Yet all i could think of was how the most expensive piece of blue chip art in our auction history is cheaper than a floor zombie Punk, which was quite a shocking realization, not that this Tanavoli Sculpture was cheap, but the fact that NFTs and Crypto have altered my perception of value and price tags so much that looking at a million dollar literal record breaking piece of art only pings one response in my mind and that is “huh free”
Not everything has to go mainstream in order to be deemed successful.
BAYC was cool because it was niche, weird and relatable for a group of people who didn’t quite relate to other communities or corners of the Internet,
Watering it down to gain larger crowds and more diverse - and unrelated - audiences from card collectors to gamers, will only result in having a spread too thin that eventually loses both the niche and the mainstream due to not having any original tangible substance left in it’s core to inspire any devotion to the brand outside of pure financial speculations by the literal worst kind of people on earth.
Make Apes Weird Again
Imagine being mad & salty because a bunch of like minded people from all around the world have gathered together thanks to their shared special interest, hosted by the creators of that special interest & the greatest living digital artist on the planet. ngmi
You can talk about financials, brand strategies, roadmaps and stuff all you want, but at the end of the day, This is all it’s really about.
A community of people who enjoy each other’s company and know how to have fun together
(Definitely not a cult tho 👀)
Long live @BoredApeYC
Very Special thanks to @beeple

Can’t believe that i finally got to visit a dedicated generative art show in Tehran, after years of being obsessed with it myself and having no one to talk to about, especially in the Iranian art scene.
Interestingly the organizers were almost entirely NFT agnostic and zero knowledge of Squiggles, Fidenzas, Mimizu and the usual subset of generative bodies of work we are used to,
Just a bunch of enthusiastic computer nerds who happened to love the idea of creative coding and the efforts and ethos of @ProcessingOrg,
Which made it even more exciting to see some works from familiar names in the exhibition like @nudoru,
@_NatSarkissian,
@annaluciacodes,
And @zolfaqqari
You love to see it
