In another classic example of two-tier justice, an unnamed 18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of raping a woman in the female changing rooms of a Birmingham gym has been released on bail.
Police launched an investigation after the woman was attacked at The Gym Group in Shirley on Tuesday, September 15. West Midlands Police initially said an 18-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of a sexual offence before later confirming that the incident was being investigated as a rape.
The suspect has since been bailed while the investigation continues. The Gym Group confirmed there had been an incident at its Shirley gym but said it could not comment further because of the ongoing police investigation.
In another case, Danny Tommo has been refused bail and remanded in custody after livestreaming himself slashing a smugglers dinghy in the English Channel while an emergency worker was aboard.
He appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on 25 September, pleaded not guilty and was refused bail. He appeared again at Portsmouth Crown Court on 29 September, where bail was refused again for a second time.
He remains in custody, with his trial listed for 1 March 2027.
Classic example of two-tier justice.
A man accused of criminal damage is remanded in custody to deter others from protesting against illegal migration, while another man accused of raping a woman in a gym changing room has been granted bail.

🚨JUST IN: Three men are on trial accused of ripping down and burning Union flags outside a Twickenham pub while shouting “Allahu Akbar”, “Free Palestine” and “F* the UK.”
• Zaid Sami, 21, and Nour Sami, 20, who live in Feltham, and Omar Sukkar, 21, who lives in Isleworth, deny racially aggravated criminal damage. The case is being heard at Kingston Crown Court.
• Prosecutors say the attack on 23 October 2023 was hostility towards British people.
• CCTV shows Sukkar climbing to one flag and Zaid Sami taking the other, damaging poles and fixings. Witnesses said the flags were then burned in a nearby alley. Landlord Paul Brace said he heard several voices shouting “Allahu Akbar” and smelled burning.
• A witness said four men walked past, one in an Arab-style scarf, two masked, one hooded, shouting “F* the UK.” The men kept talking about Gaza and Israel after arrest.

Del Somerville. English. Father of two. Locked out of his own marina where he lives. Throws an empty plastic bottle and swears at a police line at a protest about migrants. Two years. Crown Court. Judge calls him a thug and says the point of the sentence is to stop anyone else standing there when the next boat comes in.
Hadush Kebatu. Off a small boat. Eight days in the country. Sexually assaults a 14-year-old in her school uniform. Tries it on a woman who intervenes. Tells the girls he wants a baby with them. Twelve months. Magistrates’ maximum. Then they talk about deporting him after.
One offence is a bottle in a crowd. The other is a child.
The Englishman gets the longer stretch. The man who put his hands on a schoolgirl gets half of it, that’s the sick state of our country RIGHT NOW!
That is not “different facts, different courts.” That is the state telling you which crime it actually fears. Disorder from people who live here. Not the assault that started the protests in the first place.
If you throw plastic at police while angry about boats, you are a deterrent case. If you assault a 14-year-old after arriving on one, the system finds the lowest available box and ticks it.
Call it what it is. Two-tier and NOT justice and it’s a bloody disgrace.
