#Today we take a look back at some #tramcar parades which have taken place during special events @CrichTramway. We will welcome some more at our #Tram #weekend - #Electric60 #event on #Saturday 14th & #Sunday 15th #September 2024.
Creating a balanced play diet is important. On screen entertainment is highly accessible but we often find this level of support for discovering local places to play is limited. We are trying to change this by helping families find play spaces to suit them greatbritishplaymap.com
"We need to be creating a society where kids can go out & #play freely, with access to free, safe, well-designed #playgrounds in every #community." @API_ChairUK on @LBC with @RachelSJohnson yesterday discussing kids' screen time (02:03:45-02:17:13): bit.ly/3N1e2j7

Getting our 9 year old out the house can be tricky, especially on cold, wintery days like today but free resources like these from @hill_marian have been a great way to encourage him to get out and active whilst engaging with nature and having fun. We love them!
I have built a new website specially for my insect illustration project. Check out buzzandscuttle.com for free teaching resources, insect illustration gallery & poster shop. #urbanwildlife #urbannature #wildcity #wildcitygarden #nomow #nomowmay #bioblitz #nodig

The original bridge that inspired AA Milne’s ‘Pooh sticks’ is up for sale! The news reminds me of Ashdown Forest the real ‘Hundred Acre Wood’. Such an amazing place full of adventure and imagination. greatbritishplaymap.com/map/…
Where is your favourite place to play pooh sticks?
Definitely one of our happy places @NTbrimhamrocks. If like us you love bouldering, scrambling, running, jumping, squeezing, hide and seeking then Brimham Rocks is the place for you! greatbritishplaymap.com/map/…

Another great park discovered this week. We only wish we lived closer to this amazing place - Holland Park, London. @RBKC I bet it's loved by all, I know a 6 year old who would go crazy for this place! Feel a road trip coming on! Alternatively @NWLeics - pretty please💚

Food for thought with clear evidence of the importance of quality community consultation focusing on children and young people. Without it I fear we'll see more and more comments like the poignant one in the article ‘I don’t belong here, I’ll just go home’.

Our 6 year old's play wish list - Den building, tree climbing, dam making, pond dipping, rope swinging, hide and seek, muddy puddle jumping! So with that in mind, thank you @NWLeics for the amazing place that is Grace Dieu Priory and Wood! Fantastic community asset 💚
Does your child spend the most time in the play area when at the zoo? Ours always have, highlighting the importance of play in destination attractions. There are some great examples of how many providers have embraced this to compliment their attractions! Do you know of any more?
