For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been thoroughly trained in skydiving and have experienced the protection of a parachute and have completed many safe jumps and have understood the danger of falling without one, and yet have deliberately jumped from a great height without a parachute, to restore them to life by human means after a fatal impact, since they have knowingly rejected the means of a safe landing and handed themselves over to death. Few. @needGod_net

Long before the Council of Nicaea, long before medieval cathedrals, and long before Christianity became a dominant force in the Roman world, Christians were already making an extraordinary confession: Jesus Christ is Lord. And this page from Papyrus 46 one of our earliest physical witnesses to that confession. I just launched the newest manuscript in my facsimile collection and it is none other than the very test of Philippians 2 that contains this amazing “Christ Hymn.” Check it out and get your own personal copy at manuscriptshop.com/products/….

It’s sinful for a Christian to not actively work on improving their physical fitness. Jesus teaches that Christians who don’t profit with what they’ve been given are called wicked and lazy servants. And you were given something extremely valuable at the day of your conception - your physical body. It’s not yours. It’s something God gave you to yield profit with. It should multiply your impact, the joy you experience, and the testimony that you get to tell to people who look to you as a leader. Working on improving with physical fitness is not optional. Maintenance is not optional, because nothing is ever maintained. And you’re currently over weight - the goal shouldn’t just be to get to a “Healthy weight”. A healthy weight is net neutral. Like the servant who buried his talent. He didn’t lose anything. He was at net neutral. And his master called him wicked and lazy. Net neutral is not ok. You must yield profit with what you’ve been given.

Difference between fruit and results: When most people say, you’ll know them by their fruits they’re really talking about results. Net worth, body fat percentage, frequency of sex in marriage. Those are results and are typically the natural outcome of fruitfulness. But you can have those results without fruitfulness. You can have a higher net worth while still living in scarcity. You can have a leaner body fat percentage while still going to food for Comfort (GLP users). Your marriage can be “on fire” while you still struggle with lust. Fruitfulness is something that you have access to instantaneously, regardless of where you’re at in the journey. Fruits are Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-control (something GLP users forgo) These are spiritual. You have access right here right now, regardless of where you’re at because of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. You are in Christ and Christ is in you. You’ve been given the mind of Christ. You can have love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, while you’re in the process of improving the tangible “results” in any area of life. You will know them by their fruits is typically more powerful actually when you see someone demonstrating the fruits of the spirit in the midst of their “bad results.” then when they get good results, they’re fruitfulness becomes a testimony to God’s goodness - not their own ability. Regardless of where you’re at in any journey, be fruitful right here right now. More valuable than the results themselves.

When we stop blindly trusting overweight, gluttonous preachers, and actually look at scripture - we see that Paul uses PHYSICAL DISCIPLINE as one of the primary examples of how to operate spiritually on 3 accounts. 1. 1 Corinthians 10:31 2. 1 Corinthians 9:24-25 3. 1 Corinthians 9:26-27 1. 1 Corinthians 10:31 - So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Paul uses the example of eating and drinking for 2 reasons. Because of course, with every decision we make about what we put into our mouths, we should be asking the question “does this glorify God?” (Binging on a 1300 cal Ben & Jerry’s at 11:27pm doesn’t glorify God). Because eating and drinking is something we will do multiple times a day, every single day for the rest of our lives. So when we eat and drink to the glory of God, it trains us to do EVERYTHING to the glory of God. Moving on - this one requires more than an 83 IQ and quick glance. So stay with me. We are called to look deeply into the word to truly understand what it means. So let’s dive. 2. 1 Corinthians 9:24-25 - Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! 25 All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize Most people look at this and instantly think “see- athletes are stupid”. But no, more accurately Paul is questioning why the Corinthian Church is being so foolish that they won’t even train spiritually with the same discipline that athletes train physically. He uses athletic training as an explicit teacher for how we are supposed to operate spiritually. With endurance, with discipline, with a plan, with excellence, with a goal, with wise council, with faith, with intensity, from a place of knowing Who God made us to be, and operating from understood victory in Christ. Paul is using physical training as a teacher - in the Christian life, physical training is not just about health. It’s a tool. It trains a spiritually. Now - let’s get more EXPLICIT. Because the Bible is more obvious about these issues that gluttonous pastors want you to think. Here’s Paul talking: 1 Corinthians 9:26-27 I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified. Paul is being direct. Not only using physical training as an example of how we’re supposed to operate spiritually - but explicitly stating that he disciplines his body. Paul says he trains his body to do what it should. Your body is supposed to have energy. Your body is supposed to have strength. Even as you age. Joshua 14:10-11 … So here I am today, eighty-five years old! 11 I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I’m just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then… That’s Caleb talking. The man who God says has a “unique spirit”. Just as strong at 85 as he was at 45… Additionally- Your body is not supposed to go to food for Comfort instead of going to the Holy Spirit for Comfort. This is idolatry. Going to food for something only God can truly grant. And - your body is supposed to reflect discipline and self control - which is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Titus 2: 6-8 Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. 7 In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness One of your jobs as a leader this to encourage young men to be self-controlled. You do that by setting the example and doing what is good. Hint hint, being lazy and gluttonous is not good…. Being overweight does not set the example of self control… Verse seven says that in your teaching, you should show integrity and seriousness. Preaching about discipline then going to food for Comfort is not integrity. Talking about the significance of how Christ came down in a physical body then neglecting the temple of the Holy Spirit demonstrates that you’re not serious about what your preach. Paul understands this - so he disciplines his body. He’s subdues his flesh. Why? “Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.” He disciplines his body… Not for “health”. Not for “long life” Not even for “being able to be present with my grandkids.” All of which sound wholesome enough for Christian’s to admit.. But now - Paul says he disciplines his body SO THAT he is not disqualified after preaching to others. Because a lack of physical disqualifies you. This is New Testament. Now - the most common objection you’ll get to this (primarily from overweight, unhealthy Christians, who have completely neglected the bodies God gave them) is 1 Timothy 4:8 - “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things,..” Easy to read this out of the broader context of scripture and think “case closed, exercise is a waste of time”. That’s a classic tendency of the flesh. It’s read the word quickly and takes away a lesson that allows you to continue living in sin. Been there… But - If we slow down for just three seconds, we’ll see that the verse says “bodily exercise profits.” Yes… Profits. Meaning that when you train your body, you get more out in fruitfulness than what you invest into it. Profits… which can be re-invested to bless every part of your life. The profit of energy. The profit of confidence. The profit of mobility. The profit of the example your body and habits set for those who look to you as a leader. And by the way - what does Jesus teach us about Christians who are not profitable with what they’ve been given? He tells us the parable of the talents, where the servant who did not yield the profit was called wicked and lazy. Wicked. And lazy. Wicked being the same root word as the word, wicker furniture - meaning something that is woven into itself. So Christians who are not profitable with what they’ve been given are described evil that is woven into its very being. This is why it’s not optional to discipline your body physically. It dishonors the temple of God, it disqualifies you from leading, and when you’re not investing into and yielding profit from something you’ve been given - you are called wicked and lazy. This taught by Jesus. So before you think to yourself “taking the time to workout is selfish.” Or “being fit is optional.” Remember. A lack of physical discipline disqualifies you as a leader. And being unprofitable with what we’ve been given means we are wicked and lazy. Paul himself thought it was worth disciplining his body, and specifically using physical discipline as a teacher for how we are supposed to operate spiritually - in the written word of God. Now - you can read this and continue on living in sin. Not yielding profit with what you’ve been given. Being governed by the flesh, even while you’re indwelled with the Holy Spirit. Or you can be reminded by the word of God that he loves you so much that he thought you were worth dying for. That’s he’s been so kind to you with your family and your blessings, that those things are worth being fit and healthy for. That as a leader, you’re supposed to love your people so deeply that you’re willing to discipline your body so that you can set the example for them and be capable of executing your mission for them. Do not start disciplining your body from a place of shame or in attempt to be good enough in the eyes of God. God already calls you good because you’re in Christ. That was taken care of on the cross.. Instead discipline your body as a response to Gods love for you, to glorify his name, and as a service to the people he’s called you to lead. - Gabe Pluguez

This is the most current version we have of ONE HUMAN CELL. You have trillions of them all working in unison right now. Atheists will try to persuade you this is all random & an explosion created order which created you & all we see. Atheists have an ABSURD amount of FAITH! In the beginning GOD....... Science proves it. Everything proves it. "A little knowledge of science makes you an atheist; in-depth knowledge of science makes you a believer in God." -Louis Pasteur.

I refuse to take peptides because the main reason I’m doing fitness is to know Christ more deeply, to glorify Him, and to serve his people. Every food decision I make is an opportunity to glorify God, whether hungry, or overcoming emotional cravings. (1 Corinthians 10:31) My suffering in the body is an opportunity to take part in the attitude of Christ who suffered in the body (1 Peter 4:1). Because, as 1 Peter says, whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. My body and habits confirm the power of the Holy Spirit who dwells within me who’s given me the power of self control and whose will was redeemed by Christ who endured the cross for the joy set before him (Galations 5:22-23, Hebrews 12:2). The fact that I’m fit and healthy, after my dad died at 55 of diabetes, and my grandfather of diabetes too - it’s a testimony to Gods goodness and redemptive power (Revelation 12:11) My body and habits reinforce my leadership credibility, instead of undermining them (1 Timothy 3:2). The commitment to staying fit reminds me of the weight of my God given mission and strengthens my trust in Gods promises for my future, like Caleb - who was just as PHYSICALLY strong at 85 and he was at 45, ready to fight war for his promised inheritance (Joshua 14:11). I’m not talking about TRT, recovery peptides like BPC-157, or skin health stuff. But the appetite suppressant peptides, the GLPs, retatrutide, trizepitide, ozempic, etc. These increase your satiety signals by thousands of times compared to what you would normally experience, which robs you of the main benefits of getting fit in the first place. Because the main benefits of getting fit are not simply the physical outcomes, the performance outcomes or even the health outcomes. The Bible is clear on this - “For bodily exercise profiteth little” - (1 Timothy, 4:8…)… But - as a Christian the main benefits of getting fit… they’re much deeper. It’s the sanctification required to overcome gluttony. The spiritual peace you experience when you stop going to food for comfort and go to the Holy Spirit for comfort instead. It’s how your suffering in the body allows you to take part in the attitude of Christ. It’s the story your body tells to the people you’re called to lead. It’s the spiritual training that takes place THROUGH the physical training - exactly how Paul describes it in 1 Corinthians 9:24-27. The main benefits of fitness as a Christian are not the “fitness” itself - it’s what God does through the process of your fitness - and weight loss peptides rob you of that. I’m not telling you what to do. I’m telling you why I do what I do. Hope this blesses you - Gabe. – at Franklin, TN

The biggest thing stopping Christian’s from success is that Christian culture is really really soft. Pastors wearing pink v necks. Or theological powerhouses who are FAT and weak. Or just dudes who cry at every Bible study and CHANGE NOTHING about their actual lives. No wonder boys are looking to Andrew Tate. Since when did it become fundamentally unchristian to be excellent? To do everything in your life WELL - to the glory of God. Because last time I checked - a thriving marriage glorifies God. An amazing, immense, profitable business glorifies God. A body that demonstrates INCREDIBLE WILL and SELF CONTROL glorifies God. Can we STOP STOPPING OTHER CHRISTIANS from success? SUBMIT IT TO GOD, IT’S ALL HIS ANYWAYS. GOOD THINGS CAN GLORIFY GOD.

Nothing satisfies like the presence of the Holy Spirit. He’s always here, within us. But our minds get so busy that we drown him out. Surrender. Stop thinking. Acknowledge the presence of the Holy Spirit. Nothing brings peace like this.

Yea man, you just can't get abs after 40. I'm not kidding. YOU specifically, as you are can't get abs after 40. The old you needs to die. The lazy, emotional eating version of you who never makes time to take care of himself, that man can't get abs after 40. But the new you? The man who's actually living more in alignment with who God created you to be? That man absolutely can get abs after 40.

"We as conservative Christian men need to be realistic about the world that we're living in. We're living in a hostile environment. You need to be training. You need to be lifting. You need to be building up your endurance, and you need to not be carrying around extra weight.  When I joined, I weighed 186 pounds. I cut down to 170. I've maintained, 170 to 172 for the past three months solid. I would cut a bunch of weight. I 'd hit campaign season. I'd gain a bunch of weight, and then I'd be fat for a while, and this compounds every election season for the rest of my life... I'm gonna be Jabba the Hutt by the time I'm 50.   I'm keeping the weight off this campaign season, which has been huge."

If identity is in your work - the fruit will be rotten. If identity is in being a present father - the fruit will be rotten. If identity is in being fit - the fruit will be rotten. If identity is in anything other than Christ and Christ alone - whatever you identify with will become an idol - and rob of you of other things God has called you to steward. Work will rob you of family or fitness. Family will rob you of work or fitness. Fitness will rob you of work or family. Identity must be in Christ and Christ alone.
