The girl who seemed unbreakable, broke. The girl who seemed strong, crumbled. The girl who always laughed it off, cried. LOVE.

'I think it's a mentality thing. It's like do or die. Like, either I win, or none of us do.'
Lewis Hamilton: "Before I joined this team, when I was in Mercedes, I watched and witnessed the back-and-forth between Charles and Carlos. Several races where they were battling so much that the person ahead just pulled away, and they had the pace to actually win the race."
"It’s one thing when that's happening in fourth and fifth as opposed to first and second, and you lose the win. That's significant. The guy is 28 years old, so I don't think it's an age thing. I think it's a mentality thing. It's like do or die. Like, either I win, or none of us do, and it shouldn't be that. It should be, us having got that one-two, which is still a good feeling."
"At Silverstone, I could have gone all kamikaze on him and taken him off and lost us the the win, but instead a one-two was there, and I think we got a one-two, or was it a one-three? I'm happy for the team to have experienced that. I'm hopeful we'll work towards a better place in the future."

#MexicoGP 🇲🇽 | Lewis Hamilton when asked to talk about the incident with Charles:
“I’d rather not. I’d rather talk about Kimi, you know? Kimi just won the World Championship. Youngest world champion ever, you know? I’d love to keep it on a positive.”
“I don’t really have anything to say about the scenario with Charles. You can see what happened and the reason we lost the win.”
“But otherwise, really happy and really honoured to be up there with Kimi and with Max. Three world champions, pretty cool moment.”

Lewis Hamilton was asked if he was serious about staying in F1 until the 2030s to race in Africa, given that people have rarely raced approaching their fifties in F1:
“I mean, firstly, you've never had anyone like me here in the seventy years [of the sport]. So I feel that I'm built differently.”
“Of course, there are challenges up ahead that I can't foresee that come with age. But along this journey, there have been so many preconceived ideas about the fact that your reaction time drops off.”
“Did you see my reaction [at the start] in the last race? My reaction is faster than some of the youngest people here. I can't say in four years whether I want to continue to do what I'm doing, but I love what I'm doing still now. I'm still all in, and I will be for the foreseeable future.”
“Whether or not I can compete at 44 with a 20-year-old, who knows? But at 41, I can compete with a 20-year-old. So time will tell.”

Exactly one year ago, I was landing in #Jamaica to hunt a #hurricane. Little did I know what I was getting into—that I'd go through the eye of one of the top-3 strongest hurricanes ever to hit North America. That I'd see the most extreme winds I'd ever seen. That I'd be on the island for over 10 days. #MELISSA
