Important read – this is the cost of Brooklyn party leaders putting winning committee votes over all else. We stand with Renée and all the other volunteers that have been shut out of our local party:

There is simply no limit to the chicanery of @bkdems.
- reform slate of candidates lose through a dubious process
- @CMMercedesCD46 disrespected by the presiding officers.
- slate of reforms disqualified by an erroneous overruling.
- Exco meeting commenced with no prior notice

Gotta give it to BK Dems. they continue to redefine and push boundaries when it comes to “how much worse can it possibly get.”

12/ @CMMercedesCD46 says she’s not surprised that the slate moved forward without an audit.
“It seems like people do whatever they want to,”she said. “It’s like a dictatorship approach.”

Barring any last-minute machinations, Brooklyn Democratic Party boss Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn is poised to win reelection as chair at Monday’s organizational meeting.

Rise and shine Brooklyn ☀️ ending my weekend in DC early this Monday morning to make it in time for round two of the Kings County Democratic County Committee meeting.
With some help from Dunkin’, I’m wired up, fired up, and ready to fight for some changes.

A common sense good faith request for accessibility, transparency and fairness from a large block of #countycommittee members in #brooklyn: bit.ly/cc-statement
246 County Committee members signed bit.ly/cc-statement, outlining basic requests to ensure Monday’s Organizing Meeting is accessible, fair, & transparent. We sent it to @bkdems Friday AM, yet their mass email Friday afternoon failed to address these concerns. 1/4

the Brooklyn Democratic #countycommittee is being held at an actual event venue, but they can't be bothered to actually rent the stage or sound system... so Frank Seddio can't hear when one person after another expresses confusion about what's going on.
ALT The Brooklyn Democratic Party's 2022 Organizing Meeting of the County Committee. Despite being hosted at the Coney Island Ampitheatre, a venue with a large stage and ample technical services, the event is run with a low-power PA system and portable projector. The mammoth proscenium doors are nearly closed behind the quotidian stage of the meeting, the difference in scale providing a lovely metaphor for the waning relevance of the machine.

Common sense reforms being proposed for tonight's #democratic #brooklyn #countycommittee meeting by @newkingsdems.
Hopeful that unlike last year's meeting, this year's meeting will be fair and democratic.

UPDATE: Now that every vote has been counted in our race, we are conceding the race for Assembly D54. Our campaign reached 48% of the vote but fell short 266 votes against the incumbent.
While we didn’t reach our electoral goal, we are so proud of what we accomplished together.
