We were supposed to meet Benjamin Netanyahu on the 8th of October; unfortunately, the day before, Palestinian terrorists launched a barbaric attack against Israel and its citizens.
The new date for our meeting was deliberately chosen the day before the European Council meeting, so that I could have the most up-to-date information from the ground and also new arguments for supporting Israel in the Council.
In Brussels, I will seek to ensure that the Council confirms its unequivocal support for Israel and its right to defend itself.
Hamas is a terrorist organisation, we must treat it accordingly, we must be sure that no European money is used to support terrorism.
Israel is our key ally. It has a right to peace and security, and the Czech Republic stands firmly by its side.
