This was the very first AI chatbot. In 1966, MIT computer scientist Joseph Weizenbaum created ELIZA, its a program that let people have conversations with a computer. The weirdest part? ELIZA never actually understand ppl back then. It looked for keywords in what you typed, matched them to rules, and turned them into responses. Its most famous script, DOCTOR, was designed to imitate a Rogerian therapist by reflecting your words back as questions. You could say: ''I feel gay'' And ELIZA might respond with: ''Why do you feel gay?'' ye its that simple. however people started treating it like it genuinely understood them. Some even shared deeply personal things with it. weizenbaum was surprised by how quickly people attributed understanding and empathy to a program that was essentially matching patterns. this became known as the ELIZA effect, our tendency to perceive intelligence or understanding in something that communicates convincingly. And thats the part I really find fascinating. the tek changed dramatically over the next 60 years. but our instinct to talk to machines like they're human? that actually started a long frking time ago. And we're still figuring out what that says about us now.

If you live in a country where everyone is constantly angry and cynical, and you refuse to leave, you are actually choosing to become constantly angry and cynical yourself.

As I always say, in most cases using your intellect and obsessing over healing is an enormous waste of time and energy which will tighten your chains that bind you even more. Because being overly conscious of something brings despair and nihilism. There is no healing, but only moving forwards. Upwards. Where the Sun is. Adaptations will happen. Your body & mind will adapt to whatever you put it through. The only important part of the equation is - whether you are courageous to get out of your own way.
Carl Jung was right when he said: in my experience, I have found that the solutions to all of lifeโ€™s most intractable problems are not found through any form of intellect or cleverness. They are solved simply by moving on.

If thereโ€™s one piece of advice I can give anyone in pursuit of their dreams/goals, itโ€™s thisโ€ฆbe AUDACIOUS. The difference between you and the person who made it is that they had the AUDACITY to believe they deserved it, that they would have it, and that they were meant for it
imagine being one audacious decision away from the life you've been romanticizing.
