Day 47 of Building in Public 🚢 4 hours of just straight building today! Feels so good to get back in the swing of things. Daily Log ✅ Added a "Progress" page for skincare iOS app to keep track of streaks and display Achievement badges ✅ Added dark mode and light mode support ✅ Clean up little UI quirks in the calendar view ✅ Setup notifications Now I just need an onboarding flow and pricing, then this app is ready to launch!

Day 46 of Building in Public 🚢 Made a couple more widgets for users to keep track of their todos for their day and be proud of their progress! I think I’m starting to get the hang of designing for iOS. The stats in the screen shots are actually mine!

Claude Code is smartest at the start of a session. Long sessions slowly degrade because of compaction. Trick: After a while, ask Claude to generate a handoff doc and start a new session. Fresh context = better results. Turn into a skill so Claude does it automatically.

Day 45 of Building in Public 🚢 Finally got my first widget to work for my iOS app! Took much longer than I'd like to admit but I'm new to iOS and I've only had about a 30 min - 1hr per day to work on this. Experimenting with this new shorter format for my daily updates with screenshots of what I build. What do you guys think?

Found my old 2021 to-do list and it’s hilarious how small work used to be. 2021 - add one API endpoint - tweak a CSS bug - make a single checkout screen 2026 - ship entire MVP of app AI has changed the unit of progress. Incredibly cool!

Coming from web dev, I've noticed one thing about iOS development... The screen size is SO DAMN SMALL. Fr how do you guys fit everything in such a tiny space. Totally different ball game

I never thought I’d be building iOS apps as a web dev 😅 New platforms used to scare me. But now, I feel way more empowered to just ship and learn as I go 🚀 Excited to learn Swift + all the iOS quirks and document it! Any Swift/iOS ‘wish I knew this earlier’ tips?

Day 31 of Building in Public 🚢 I have a big project due next week for my 9-5. Progress is about to slow way down. But the point of this series is to share the good days, bad days, and boring days like today too.😅 Daily log: ✅ 9-5 Grindd ✅ Researched viability of my Retinol skincare app with Grok. Made grok search tiktok creator tools to see the popularity of key words. Seems promising. I'll be able to dogfood this app since I am starting my retinol journey too! ✅ Hit the gym. Back and biceps today :) ✅ 4 posts, 64 replies, +10 followers (132 → 142 🎉) Today was a pretty big day for my follower growth. Been really nice connecting with all of y'all individually. ⸻ Thanks for following my journey!! #BuildInPublic

Passing on a good quote for whoever may need it today 😇 “Say Yes, and then figure it out.” We get stuck in analysis paralysis a lot. It makes sense, a lot of people here have big brains. But when you yes, you act instead of think. And when you act, progress is inevitable.

Segment your users before sending an outreach email! Tailored messages get replies. Generic ones get ignored. I segmented transcriby (tiktok transcriber) into three buckets: 1. Users who signed up but never made a transcript 2. Users who made exactly one transcript then vanished 3. Users who never touched the AI features AI can whip up a script to do this for you in a few seconds.

One tiny thing just slashed my storage costs in half. I realized my audio bitrate was way overkill for speech-to-text. Dropped it down → nearly 50% lower storage costs with no real downside. Pareto Principle for the freaking win!

Day 27 of Building in Public: A solid day of building in the books. Users weren't responding to my outreach emails, so I dove into session replays to uncover where my SAAS layout was losing them. Daily log of work: ✅ Restructure SAAS so it's very obvious where they need to put in their URLs ✅ Allow users to split their transcripts by words and segments. ✅ Started implementation on a pay-as-you-go subscription plan. ✅ 4 posts, 36 replies, +4 followers (116 -> 120 🎉) Can't believe I'm already at 120 followers. It's only been a few days since I hit 100. What are YOU building this weekend? 🧐 ___ Thanks for following my journey! #BuildInPublic

Day 25 of Building in Public Worked 12 hours today at my main job and I'm completely fried. 😵‍💫 Pretty tired, but I still showed up and posted. Not every day needs to be a flashy update. Daily log: ✅ 9-5 grinddd ✅ Listened to My First Million on the way to work. Learned a ton about user interviews ✅ Practiced golf at the range ✅ 4 posts, 53 replies, +9 followers (100 → 109 🎉) Had some time to think about what’s next for Transcriby. I'm thinking about a "Discovery" feature - one that helps users find trending TikToks/Reels/Shorts in their niche so they instantly know what to transcribe + remix for more views. Kind of like SuperX does. Not gonna lie, this isn't easy to build. I'd need to talk to my users first to see if they actually want this. But here's the thing - none of my competitors are doing this right now. Could be something big. __ Thanks for following along! #BuildInPublic

This might be a bad idea… But I want to build a consumer iOS app in self-improvement. I’ll learn: • Swift / iOS • ASO • AI UGC And this rabbit hole may lead to more future SaaS ideas. Worst case: I learn. Best case: I find my next big thing. What do you guys think?

confidence without substance is arrogance “just be confident” ignores this confidence comes from undeniable and repeatable evidence you are who you say you are insecurity is the feature that motivates you to go build that if you don’t have any
