Don't make #businessStrategy something else you do. Make #strategy the way you do things.

Your roadmap gets noisy when every request becomes a feature. Customers are hiring your offer to make progress, gain something or avoid a risk. What job are they really trying to get done?

Your strategy meeting has failed if people leave with different conclusions and vague notes. Capture every decision: owner, outcome, deadline, dependencies & review date. Turn discussion into delivery: buff.ly/PYZN9dA #strategy

Who writes job ads for your company. Most look rushed and not well thought through. Should you devote as much time and attention to them as you do to your other marketing (because that’s what they are)?

Your initiative list is not a strategy if half the work supports no goal—and a key goal has no work behind it. Map initiatives against goals. Prioritise those with the strongest contribution across several goals; challenge the rest. What would your matrix expose?

Your dashboard can show every KPI and still leave you guessing. If faster credit decisions don’t lead to better customer outcomes or revenue, check the data, bottleneck and assumption—not just the target. See how: buff.ly/SdOukkU #strategy

These days, I mostly use my keyboard for two things: - Typing passwords (esp. To my password manager - faster and because of trust) - Entering lots of numbers (still seems faster than typing) - Activating Wispr Flow.

What I really need is a way of activating Wispr Flow from my mouse...

When your strategy launch loses energy, a leaderboard is often the wrong fix. Gamify actions people control, repeat often and get quick feedback on—without damaging collaboration. What routine would benefit?

Definitely PhD material right there 🤣
Just got an email from a prospective PhD student containing the below. My response: I’m glad you enjoyed my work on [one short, genuine line]. It’s some of my best. As for supervising you, I think [polite refusal with an excuse - don’t mention the applicant’s AI use].

Your strategy stalls when decisions are made, forgotten and debated again. Keep one RAID log: risks, actions, issues and decisions. Record the owner and rationale, not just the outcome. Build a clearer record of key choices: buff.ly/WSTk0j2

Agile is meant for disciplined, iterative delivery. Too often, it's used as a convenient excuse for having no plan and starting to bill anyway. Don't confuse speed with a lack of strategy. #Agile #BusinessStrategy

Your strategy isn’t slow because the team lacks templates. It’s slow because decisions, goals and actions sit in disconnected files. I’ve seen teams spend more time reconciling decks than executing. Where does your strategy lose its single source of truth?

Listening to these two talking about overdoing it reminds me that we need to be much more careful as we get older. I do 3 fully coached and supervised workouts a week to keep me active in a safe way.

Take it as a warning shot. I broke my arm skateboarding to impress the kids. Ended up getting two surgeries and permanent loss of my thumb. The things we do :(

Your values are theatre if nobody can describe the behaviours they require. “Integrity” means little unless your people can show how it changes a sales call, supplier choice or difficult decision. Which value would be hardest to recognise in action at your business?

Your transformation can fail when a new process has no support from the people, technology, data or governance around it. Map how work happens now before designing the future model: buff.ly/At33ReH

The risk isn’t that you lack data. It’s that every team brings only evidence that answers its own question. Combine stakeholder interviews, company records, trade press and targeted research before committing. What source does your plan lack?

This guy hasn't a clue
When savings are pooled into pension funds the collective strength is huge. That money should help rebalance the country & benefit ordinary people. Pension funds could pay for more council houses and cheaper renewable energy, which would benefit us all.

Your hardest decisions get worse when every option is judged on upside alone. For each route, weigh profit and cost, capital, complexity and overhead. Compare the trade-offs before you choose: buff.ly/MxYwu8J #strategy

Your real competitor may be an alternative you never track. Ask customers what they value. Then choose what to raise, reduce, eliminate or add—not how to copy rivals. Map a distinct value curve: buff.ly/fHgFpBQ #strategy
