Most of the outstanding votes are from Democratic counties, in fact.
Cindy Hyde-Smith is going to represent Mississippi in the United States Senate for the next six years. We believe thousands of votes remain to be counted from dozens of Republican counties, and we are confident those votes will reinforce her path to victory. Election officials are continuing the normal process of counting outstanding ballots, including absentee ballots. They must have the time to complete that work and ensure every lawful ballot is accurately counted and every Mississippian’s voice is heard. We expect Democratic lawyers to pull out every stop, and we are prepared. Our focus is on completing the count and returning Cindy Hyde-Smith to the Senate to keep fighting for Mississippi values.

As of this November 5 post, Democrat Scott Colom led Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith by over 1,000 votes with 96% counted in Mississippi's Senate race, which remained too close to call with outstanding ballots projected to favor Colom. apnews.com/projects/elect… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_Unit… mississippitoday.org/2026/11/05/tho…

This is insane! Here is a map of yesterday’s Indiana House results if they were drawn under the attempted Republican gerrymander map from last Fall. Thank you to @Vulst3 for breaking down the data to make this map. The gerrymander could’ve netted us a 9-0 or 8-1 map potentially!

Ok, I'm convinced AtlasIntel is ran by a time traveler. Or someone with clairvoyance.

Barring weird things in the Harris County remaining vote, it looks like the Texas House will be 84D - 66R. #txlege

To be clear on what happened here: Miami-Dade was reporting 48,822 votes for Locklin. At some point during the night, this changed to 46,629. This was caught and updated. As for why, I'm not sure, my guess is a data input error from the county. Our vote count reflects this total.

In what might be the upset of the century in the state of Alabama, it *appears* as though independent candidate Jesse Battles has defeated incumbent Republican Andrew Jones in Alabama's SD-10. Donald Trump won SD-10 by 62% in 2024.

While it ultimately didn't flip, I was correct in this being one of the closest statewide races!

tbf, I've thought for a while if there could be *any* sleeper statewide flip in Florida, it'd be this race. I don't think it'll happen though

Gimme three months and his golf buddies in Florida wouldn’t even vote for him. I’ll smoke him by 7. Bet on it.

Hinds County says counting will resume this morning. This is the key to Colom winning Mississippi. Anything remotely close to the margins he’s been receiving or better and it’s simply over and Mississippi will elect their first democratic senator since John C. Stennis in 1982. It will likely be some combination of provisional and mail ballots which often skew more democratic and as you can see those margins could lean even greater than the already 80/20 percentile margins. If just 80/20 then that alone nets Colom 5400 votes… 85/15 > 6300 net votes 90/10 > 7200 net votes 75/25 > 4500 net votes 70/30 >3600 net votes Out of all of those scenarios none are really helpful to help Hyde-Smith in this race And I’m not sure how many of those are apart of the 10-15k estimated mail ballots left according to the Colom campaign which will skew Democratic for Colom. There is nowhere near close to enough rural R votes out there to make up that kind of deficit(especially when you consider everywhere in MS over +20🔵 this election) Everything in the data is pointing towards MS electing their first black senator since Blanche K. Bruce in 1874. A historical night for the Democratic Party could be capped off with a historical moment based on what the data shows. Not what R’s were likely expecting but the +10-20 trend across much of America is shaking up the 2026 mid terms darkhorsepressnow.com/news/2…
Huge Update to estimated votes in Hinds County to now 9k and 44k total remaining. There’s not really a path for Hyde-Smith if accurate. Did my estimations and even w/ both range of low floor and high ceiling scenarios for Colom and Smith: And I definitely believe Scott Colom would net likely at least hundreds of votes to as much as thousands depending on margins and kind of votes left in Mississippi Senate Race. Re-confirming that Colom is likely to win barring something drastic outside range of probabilities. Another gain for Democrats in the senate and Hyde-Smith the incumbent will likely be defeated for Republicans… Unfortunately doesn’t seem like we’ll get any official calls tonight unless we get unexpected large dumps of votes so get your sleep if you’re staying up to know results… But again this is a historic result potentially loading for this election in Colom vs Hyde-Smith. Would love a first batch estimate even if small to confirm margins but the story has been too telling already in terms of floor scenario of net gains and Colom has too many net margins to gain from imo compared to Hyde-Smith
