Back-to-school prep is more than uniforms and stationery.
This year, we’ve helped Lessness Heath with their indoor air quality back-to-school prep. 📚💨

Our open letter to UK infection control leads went today.
Patients can be asked to remove their FFP2 or FFP3 mask, or swap it for a surgical one, while staff can now choose a respirator if treating a patient with respiratory symptoms.

It’s the 13th wave of Covid right now. The 13th spin of the chamber. Many lives were destroyed from waves 1 to 12, but every wave is an opportunity to join them. The NYT is saying it out loud at last…

New research has looked at whether the air we breathe during pregnancy can affect a child’s development.
Higher indoor PM₂.₅ exposure during pregnancy was associated with lower cognitive scores at age 4, strongest in the first trimester.

When I was pregnant and travelling on the London Underground, I wore an FFP3 because particulate pollution is so high down there 🤮
At home I ran HEPA filters on high-pollution days and avoided adding extra particles indoors where I could.

PM indoors can come from candles, incense, frying, wood burning, smoking, vaping, fragrance products and outdoor pollution.
You can also sign up for Government air-quality alerts.
We can’t remove every exposure, but we can reduce it.

🚨 FIVE IPC MISTAKES. DEVASTATING CONSEQUENCES.
The UK Covid-19 Inquiry exposed serious failings in infection prevention and control (IPC) during the pandemic.
❌ Failure to apply the precautionary principle
❌ Misunderstanding how respiratory infections spread
❌ Inadequate respiratory protection
❌ Inconsistent and unclear guidance
❌ Failures in expertise, accountability and oversight
Healthcare workers paid a devastating price.
⚠️ Have we learnt the lessons?

Very busy North Lounge, T5. Figures on this though impressed other travellers who asked where they could purchase either Aranet, or alternative models. (And yes saw a few others wearing FFP2 or N95’s across LHR terminal)

Children are more sensitive to air pollution because their lungs are still developing. In one of the study locations, every 10 µg/m³ increase in PM2.5 was followed by a 12% higher risk of children going to the hospital with breathing problems.

AirFanta 5Pro Officially Launched: Two Years in the Making, Fully Evolved
We are excited to announce the launch of our new air purifier, the AirFanta 5Pro, following two years of design and manufacturing.
The 5Pro has been redesigned based on the structure of the 3Pro, with improvements across the board: it looks better and is easier to install.
In terms of performance, the CADR remains outstanding. Measured in an AHAM-certified laboratory, the results are as follows:
PM2.5: 393 CFM
SMOKE: 379 CFM
DUST: 408 CFM
Pollen: >450 CFM
We are also applying for AHAM and ENERGY STAR certification.
In addition, the 5Pro now features a PM2.5 sensor and display, as well as an Auto mode. When disassembled, it can still fit into a 20-inch suitcase, making it easy to carry and store.
For purchase links and more information, please click the link below:

It is currently available for purchase in the United States, Canada, Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia, and countries across East Asia and Southeast Asia.

Getting sick does not make your immune system stronger.
Your immune system isn’t a muscle and you don’t need to keep “exercising” it with viral infections.
Yes, infection can create immune memory. That is not the same as making your whole immune system stronger.
4/5
It’s not necessary and it’s not helping anyone.
It means feeling awful, missing school or work, cancelling plans and passing it around the family.
And sometimes it doesn’t end when the fever or cough does. Post-viral problems can last for weeks or longer.
5/5
There’s a difference between infections and everyday environmental microbes.
Playing outside, getting muddy and being around soil, plants and animals may support healthy immune development.
Mud? Great.
Repeated viral infections? Not needed.
