A woman who works at a bank in my town told me about a customer who comes in every Friday at exactly 4:50pm, nine years running.
His name is Mr Hollis; he's 81, and he deposits $7.50 in coins, always in a clear sandwich bag. He asks for a receipt, folds it into his wallet and says, "Thank you, it's going well."
She told me the other tellers had a theory. Some said he was saving for a boat. One said he was hiding money from his wife. A trainee once asked if he'd like to set up a standing order, and he looked at her as if she'd suggested he sell his kidney.
Last Friday she finally asked, "Sorry, Mr Hollis, what is it for?"
He went quiet. He looked at the counter for a long time and said...
My Husband Asked Me to Sign Divorce Papers at Our Daughter’s Funeral—Then the Lawyer Opened a Second Envelope.
I was standing beside my eight-year-old daughter Lily’s coffin when my husband, Ethan, handed me divorce papers and demanded I sign them before the funeral ended.
He offered me $25,000 to walk away quietly, while his mistress stood behind him wearing the necklace I had given him on our anniversary.
I refused to sign and called our family lawyer.
Twenty minutes later, the lawyer arrived with a sealed envelope containing financial records that showed Ethan had secretly transferred thousands of dollars from our joint savings into his mistress’s company.
Then he opened a second envelope.
Inside was a letter Lily had written at school two weeks before she died.
In her little handwriting, she had written, “I wish Daddy would stop making Mommy cry.”

. @FreddyLA7 thank you for taking us on an incredible journey with you. You have probably seen more of our country than 75% of its residents and hopefully people back home realize what a great country it is because of your sharing.
Sorry that @GER_WorldCup is not advancing but I hope you will stay around and tour a bit longer. At least through July 4th as we celebrate our 250th national birthday.
Congratulations to @chuckbox1969 on an incredible 5 years at the D1 college baseball level, including twice making it to the @CWSOmaha (and the Finals in '24 at that).
Having exhausted his NCAA "5-in-5" eligibility, he is now heading back where he belongs, leading a HS program with @JAraiderBSB. All those HS teams in MS better watch out; The Box is back, Baby!

🚨 Pujols’ Hitting Advice
• Focus on seeing the ball
• Don’t worry about your mechanics
⭐️ Mechanics are for the cage. When you step in the box, you have to be 100% focused on the ball - nothing else matters.
Can't wait to go through this!

. @CoachFarrell017 is so good about breaking down infield play. One of the best!
Turning two at second base can be done a couple of different ways, but the key is always the same — secure the lead out. When infielders focus on controlling the bag and making a strong throw, the chances of completing the double play go way up 2️⃣ @NettingPros @CoachFarrell017

Early in my time managing, I had this crazy idea.
I wanted to know how many decisions I made in a day as a manager.
So I had an intern follow me around with a pitch counter. You know, the clicker.
Every time I made a decision, I'd point my finger and he'd hit it. It was kind of comical.
If Steve Martin and Martin Short were doing it, it'd be hilarious. But it was me and this kid, just pointing all day.
We started at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. By 6 o'clock - five hours later - I asked him, "What's the clicker say?"
He goes, "You made 181 decisions."
181 decisions!
And I still had an hour before game time. Then I'd have a whole game to manage.
I looked at that kid - I think his name was Will - and said, "Will, can you believe I've made 181 decisions? Do you think I made every single one correctly?"
He's like, "Wow, no, I never thought of that. Probably not."
He was afraid to even say it.
But I said, "You're absolutely right. There's no way I'm going to make every decision correctly."
That opened my eyes.
I needed to find a way to lean into other people that are smarter than me in certain areas to help me make better decisions.
Sometimes the best leadership isn't having all the answers.
It's knowing when to ask for help.
Congrats @CoachLovelady23 on the new position. @StetsonBaseball getting a great addition to the coaching staff.
