My dad used to call me a crybaby when I was a little baby, like 5. I learned VERY young that he found me crying disgusting and invalidating of anything I said while crying, so I learned to approach feelings conversations with him like I was meeting w/the board of directors, at 10

What would it be like
to live in a library
of melted books.
With sentences streaming over the floor
and all the punctuation
settled to the bottom as a residue.
It would be confusing.
Unforgivable.
A great adventure.

Also, you all over exaggerate how much the gen pop actually loves babies. Many people experienced some of the worst violence of their lives as literal infants.

Babies don’t have power. They can’t speak. They can’t voice discomfort (w clear words). They can’t enforce boundaries. They are at the mercy of the will of adults. The fracture happens when they start developing the ability to express a desire for autonomy.

Asexual discrimination exists. People often ask me for examples, so I wrote a report on asexual people's human rights in partnership with leading LGBTQ+ rights organisation, Outright International.

I am Yemeni. Saudi Arabia has deprived me of my right to travel, my right to the country's wealth, my right to live, my right to move between Yemeni governorates, and my right to obtain a passport except with permission from the Saudi embassy. And then they expect us to remain silent.
i think people should be more aware of how they have harmed anyone, but specifically, published poets. because you never know when your misdeeds are going to be aired out & published publicly with attention to craft & impact of language. might be in a month, might be in ten years

Today CBC published an article with the headline: “Why a spate of gun-for-hire shootings in Toronto were likely paid for by Iran.”
I was intrigued, as there has been almost 0 evidence offered for this claim thus far.
Unfortunately this article doesn’t offer any either, adding nothing new. CBC says they spent weeks on the investigation, so these are pretty pitiful results, at least in terms of finding evidence of who paid for the shootings.
I’m not sure why they feel comfortable with such a declarative headline given the lack of evidence (other than journalistic standards going out the window when the subject is an Official Enemy country).
Also, CBC and other journalists continue platforming police claims that they need backdoor access to messaging apps to solve these shootings, with no push back or critique about how these powers can be abused, including against journalists.

What is engineered starvation? It is a choice. A policy. The deliberate creation of hunger.
Give to Gaza: chuffed.org/project/help-us-…
It is leaving babies, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities without food. It is what happens when the Israeli military occupation closes Gaza’s crossings to humanitarian aid and commercial supplies, creating artificial scarcity and driving food prices beyond what families can afford.
For the past few days, commercial trucks have once again been allowed to enter Gaza after a period of closure. But nowhere near enough to meet the overwhelming need.
At our Refaat Alareer Camp, families are living with the consequences of this deliberate deprivation. The Sameer Project continues to source ingredients inside Gaza to keep our community kitchen cooking and our bakery producing bread. But we need your support to keep feeding families.
Starvation is a policy. Feeding people is an act of resistance. Donate to our Food and Water Campaign link to combat this policy of suffering: chuffed.org/project/help-us-…
