You can still save without private pricing. CloudFront flat-rate plans + free AWS-to-CloudFront transfer give predictable data transfer out for S3, ALB, etc. without usage-based charges. Configurable up to 600 TB / 6B requests. Caching not required.
Our video transcoder at @gumroad runs on Hetzner, so every video pulled from S3 was billed as internet egress: $935 last month. Now it pulls via a signed CloudFront URL. S3 to CloudFront is free, and our private CloudFront pricing is far cheaper. ~$860/month saved, ~$10k/year.

Excited to announce the launch of Lambda Web Functions🚀🚀🚀🚀 Easily build and deploy web applications and APIs on Lambda. The active CPU based pricing model works great for functions that need to wait for downstream services.

AWS is successfully transforming cloud financial management from a source of anxiety into a strategic advantage for developers. The expansion of CloudFront flat-rate pricing plans represents a tectonic shift in Amazon’s billing philosophy. By replacing variable egress costs with fixed monthly tiers and a "no overage" promise, AWS is effectively tackling the billing anxiety that has long driven developers toward rivals. This is a strategic shift toward bundled, subscription-style value to win community support. The economics of the $15 Pro tier are particularly striking, offering 50 TB of data transfer that would have cost over $4,000 under previous variable rules. By making WAF security mandatory within these bundles, AWS ensures distributions are hardened by default, a move that builds a trusted voice and reinforces organisational values. The real genius of this strategy lies in ecosystem gravity. Because data transfer from AWS origins to CloudFront remains free, this flat-rate plan makes the platform increasingly attractive for long-term growth. While competitors might lead on raw pricing, AWS has successfully shifted the conversation toward the integrated value of the bundle, demonstrating how they create value for its audience. @matthieunapoli Thanks for your feedback and connecting with me afterwards. I want to share that we've added blocklist support so you can forward all headers to your origin except the Host header. We also made some related changes to make the experience better for developers:

You can configure CloudFront to forward all HTTP headers to your app (why is it not the default?). But that breaks API Gateway/Lambda: you can forward everything EXCEPT the `Host` header.

3/ Prevent policy misconfiguration. If the policy you're using has headers that don't work with the origin type, we prevent you from selecting it. This validation works for both managed and custom policies.

Thanks again for your feedback. I hope that we’ve not only given you the feature you needed, but put it together in a way that makes a better experience for other developers as well. Much more to come.

Improve the productivity of a development team by reducing the cognitive effort needed to read, interpret, review, and modify code. One of the best ways to do this: Ensure all code looks like it was written by a single person.
