This is key for the region and especially for the companies which own assets in the region like : Wyloo (private) @Wyloo_ Juno (private) @PTXMetals PTX Metals Inc. (copper nickel PGE gold platinum palladium cobalt quoted on the venture exchange PTX.V) OnGold Resources Ltd.(ONAU.V) Teck Resources Limited (Symbol @TeckResources TECK)(option to buy 100% of Canterra's ring of fire property quoted under CTM.V) Ontario Government is starting construction on new all-season roads to the Ring of Fire (a major critical minerals deposit area in northern Ontario). Construction is starting now (June 2026) on two roads in partnership with First Nations communities. Webequie Supply Road: Construction begins June 2026 → opens November 2030. Marten Falls Community Access Road: Construction begins August 2026 → opens November 2031. This is 5 years ahead of the original schedule. The goal is to ā€œunlockā€ the Ring of Fire for mining and economic development. Visuals include maps of northern Ontario, mining equipment, aerial shots of remote wilderness/lakes, and existing roads. Ends with the slogan ā€œProtect Ontarioā€ and the Ontario government logo. The video matches the post caption: ā€œStarting today, we’re getting shovels in the ground on new all-season roads to the Ring of Fire in partnership with First Nations, five years ahead of schedule. Together, we’re protecting Ontario.ā€ Doug Ford is the Premier of Ontario (head of the provincial government) and leader of the Progressive Conservative Party. He has held the position since 2018.

Copper is the new gold. AI data centers are expected to double copper demand by 2040. It may be a $1T industry & there's a network of mines operating in the shadows to supply it. And the real owners might surprise you:🧵

The world is now demanding more copper than ever. Data centres, power grids and electric cars all run on it, and demand is forecast to grow even faster next year. A single large AI campus can need up to 50,000 tonnes on its own, ~50% of what a big copper mine produces in a year. But for the first time since 2017, the world's copper mines are set to produce less than the year before. And the reasons why aren't getting nearly enough attention. The first is accidents. Grasberg in Indonesia, one of the biggest copper mines on earth, has been held back since a fatal underground accident last September. Kamoa-Kakula in Congo is still constrained after its own problems underground in 2025. Between them, about 600,000 tonnes the world was counting on this year won't arrive. That's roughly 2.5% of global supply gone. The second is weather, and it keeps hitting the biggest mines. BHP's copper output fell 19% last quarter after bad weather and a fatal accident halted work at Escondida in Chile, the world's largest copper mine. The third is the slowest and hardest to fix: the ore is getting poorer. The big mines dig lower-grade rock every year, so they have to move more of it to get the same copper out. There's plenty of copper in the ground. Copper at good grades is what's scarce, and on average a discovery takes about 17 years to become a working mine. The world needs several new ones every year to keep up, and they aren't being found. Those 17 years have to start somewhere. At Coppernico (TSX: COPR, OTCQB: CPPMF) we're starting at Sombrero in Peru, where our best surface samples have run double the world’s average copper grade and drilling is expected to begin late this year. Follow me @IvanJBebek to stay updated with the journey.

**No, the price of gold cannot realistically become negative.** That’s total bullshit for people trying to hype themselves or generate clicks. Gold is a physical, non-perishable asset with permanent demand (jewelry, industry, central banks, investment). Nobody is ever going to pay you to take physical gold off their hands. ### The 2020 oil comparison In April 2020, WTI crude oil futures briefly went negative (down to about -$38) for very specific reasons: - Storage facilities at Cushing were full, - The May futures contract was expiring, - Almost nobody wanted to take physical delivery of the oil. That was a pure logistics and contract-expiration problem. For gold, the logic is the opposite. In a panic or tight physical market, demand for delivery surges and the price tends to spike higher, not collapse. As Or.fr already pointed out back in 2020, the scenario for gold would be ā€œthe exact oppositeā€ of what happened with oil. Even in extreme theoretical scenarios (paper market distortions, futures quirks, or sci-fi ideas like mass laboratory production of gold), the price might theoretically approach very low levels, but it doesn’t go negative. Historically, gold has had big corrections, but it has never traded below zero and won’t. Claims that ā€œgold could go negativeā€ are almost always clickbait or self-promotion.
Sometimes all you need is a headline like this. We are likely in the bottoming process for precious metals. Miners oversold. Metals positioning overly bearish. U.S. dollar overvalued and overbought. Rates rolling over. tavicosta.substack.com/p/ech… H/t to @SamsonLi7

I have contacted Katusa to understand why I have been blocked for both accounts : @MarinKatusa @KatusaResearch After several email exchanges they are unable to explain me why and the funny last answer was : " there isn’t an option for us to reverse or remove the block " All the searches I did on X are showing people are blocked for nothing (no idea why like me) or because they had another opinion. It seems very odd. @quakes99 @HedgehogTrader @capnek123 thoughts ?

China’s copper import premium hit $178 a metric ton, its highest since 2014. The Yangshan premium, a gauge of China’s appetite for imported copper, reached that level after Shanghai Futures Exchange copper stocks fell more than 25% to 54,356 metric tons. Copper edged up 0.1% to $14,341 a metric ton on Monday, with the strike at Teck’s Highland Valley mine having little impact on prices. Source: Reuters
