Departing CTA President Dorval Carter's strengths lay in winning federal funds for big projects, as opposed to day-to-day operations. Ald. Vasquez, Commuters Take Action and ATA weighed in on what his retirement means for the future of Chicago transit.

“Hey all. New year, same CTA. If you need police, medical, anything, please use the intercom. Feel free to change cars, etc. I’m going to try & get this moving.” -Brown Line Conductor Keep up the great work @cta! Even your own employees know you’re a joke! @ctaaction @GovPritzker

CTA is running blue line trains every ten minutes into the Loop during morning rush stranding hundreds of passengers on platforms in 14° weather because there is simply no room on any train. Where is the accountability?

.@ctaaction on recent transit agency claims of pre-COVID-style frequency: “Bus staffing is going well, but ‘L’ staffing and service are still subpar.” Also, the advocates' response to CTA flying the Twitter coop may surprise you.

Waiting over 20 minutes for a packed Damen bus during morning rush hour is always a great way to start the day. @cta @ctaaction

Waiting for loop bound brown line.. according to the app/schedule two of them should have arrived by now.. nope ghost town. The @cta is so ghetto for this. Unreliable public transit is another reason Chicago shouldn’t even be the second city @ctaaction @ChicagoMayor

With apologies to Missy Elliot, "This is not a test!" (OK, it sort of is.) After a false alarm last week, CDOT says Smart Streets Pilot, cam enforcement of bus/bike lanes "starts today with a 30-day warning period." Alders did a quick press event today at Chicago/Milwaukee. 👍

If you thought the new @cta schedules would mean evenly spaced headways with blue line trains feeling lonely, you thought wrong. Blue line trains continue to travel with a friend. Another reminder that all the operators in the world won’t fix systemic incompetence. @ctaaction

@cta If Western riders need to ride west to catch a Loop-bound train, could you at least run on schedule rather than 10+-min waits? Many of us do work downtown on Fridays! @ctaaction

Hey @cta, it's counterproductive to the goal of improving transit, and the goal of rebuilding the public's trust of CPD, when Transit officers block bus lanes at rush hour. This was W 10/17 4:07 PM at Chicago Ave. 'L' stop. It happens regularly here. Please address this. Thanks!
