It would be a great disservice to the entire structure of theistic beliefs if it could be established that adherents of theism come to see the truth mainly through the process of indoctrination rather than through innate divine illumination (this avoids the genetic fallacy).
i’m not an athiest or in any way close to being one but i understand their pov…
right from childhood, they made you believe there’s someone up there you should pray to if you want a particular thing to happen and right from time, anything you want, you know you have to work for it.
they made you believe he loves us all, yet people are being kidnapped, killed and dying poor everyday including the people who serve him.
they made you believe something bad will happen to you if you deny his existence, meanwhile, nothing has ever happened to people who did.
does he really exist or we are just serving him out of fear??

Did you know? Before Michel Foucault discovered power in 1976, humanity had no way to power electric lights, household appliances, or motorized vehicles. Most historians think that, without Foucault, we would still be riding horse-drawn carriages and reading by candlelight.
Reading philosophy makes you more conscious of your claims and the weaknesses in your worldviews. It shows, impressively so, that we hold, more often than not, wrong beliefs that are superficially supported through the caricature of reason. What a humbling discipline!

the reason i am opposed to mathematical platonism is the same reason i follow science and not religion - i see no reason to embrace a metaphysical explanation when a natural explanation suffices.
Christianity, as I have come to understand it, and as I hope to understand better, is inherently historical. Assessing the truth claims cannot be done a priori. If the Second Coming of Jesus Christ is not realized, or if the resurrection was ahistorical, Christianity is false.
The horrors experienced by students in Nigerian private religious institutions, combined with archaic, terrible educational policies that make living difficult, are a testament to the evil contrivance of religious institutions when given absolute power within their jurisdiction.
An obvious joke, but Christians are here crashing out😭😭😭
I'm dying of heat because you weirdos wanted to talk about ontology and modal logic —about how you would look in the seventies, and in all possible and actual worlds. Rubbish!
