One of my favorite lessons in Culture WINS:
Ego vs. the Team.
Be selfish about your development.
Be unselfish about your team.
Improve your game. Then use it to make the team better.
That’s WE > ME.

Most people hear. Very few actually listen.
Do you "listen with your eyes"?

Consistency isn’t about doing the same thing over and over.
It’s about continuing to show up, pay attention, and make adjustments.
You need enough quality work, repeated often enough, to make it YOURS.
Working in the lab - week after week.

Let your actions do the yappin’🗣️
You find so many today that want to post about it. Make sure if you’re ’about it’ you back it with action & not just noise

TRUST IS BUILT IN SMALL MOMENTS:
☑ Doing what you promised.
☑ Telling the truth quickly.
☑ Showing up prepared.
☑ Protecting a teammate’s confidence.
☑ Admitting when you were wrong.
Trust rarely arrives through one grand gesture.
It adds up thru 100s of reliable actions.

COACHABILITY.
Talent determines what a player can do.
Coachability determines how much better they can become.
What would you add to this list?

Sean Miller shares a masterclass on living the standard.
"If we keep working on improving and don't buy into anything outside this locker room, we have a chance to be a really good team."
Then he got real about what he owes them:
"The one thing that I owe myself, I owe Xavier, I owe you, I owe this team, is this: It's the standard."
"It's the standard."
Success starts with living the standard every day. The standard is how you operate every day.
"I'm a passionate dude. I love the game. I wanna win badly. This shit keeps me up. I wanna win. I wanna have a group of guys that are getting better. I wanna have the peace of mind that we played a game hard in the right way."
"And the standard is the standard. Not everybody's gonna like it all the time."
"That's not my job - to please people. My job right here is to hold that fucking standard, and not ever, ever, ever give into it."
It means setting high standards and then holding yourself and others to those standards.
Then he made it clear what's in it for them:
"When you guys raise your level and you meet the standard - that's your best opportunity. That's you. Your best opportunity to play good is to meet that standard."
"This shit isn't easy."
"The strong survive."
The standard isn't punishment - it's a reminder to live a mindset of excellence every day.
Great teams have high standards and they hold each other to those standards.
Set the Standard. Live the Standard. Then raise the standard. To become the team you know you can be

ARE YOU COACHABLE?
✅ Do you look coaches in the eye?
✅ Do you absorb the message?
✅ Do you apply the correction?
✅ Do you change the behavior?
✅ Do you improve the next repetition?
✅ Do you respond without resentment?
Coachable athletes accept coaching and get better.

Nick Saban's Five Enemies of Greatness is always worth a read. He didn't write these, but they're a solid short list of his coaching philosophy throughout the years...
Ingest them for your team, and ingest them for yourself.
The 5 Enemies..keep them away from you.

Talent is a gift. Discipline is how you honor it.
God may give you the ability, but you still need to put in the work.
You don't get to be casual with something you've been entrusted with.
Show up. Work hard. Stay committed. Keep going when nobody is watching.
Your talent is a gift. Your discipline is your gratitude.

Great dugout leadership isn't always the loudest voice.
Coaches, your players are watching how you respond when things go wrong.
A bad call. An error. A strikeout. A tough inning.
Great dugout leadership means staying steady, communicating clearly, encouraging your players, and helping them reset instead of letting one moment become the next five.
Your players don't need you to have all the answers. They need to know you believe in them, especially when things aren't going their way

Pressure IS part of the opportunity.
But few want the pressure.
And even fewer can handle it.
Everybody wants the opportunity.
But not everybody wants what comes with it.
Tom Brady makes a fascinating point here about players on the practice squad.
Some guys say they want their opportunity.
But when that opportunity means getting elevated, competing against the best players in the world and having their performance judged every Sunday?
That changes things.
Because opportunity brings pressure.
And pressure exposes how badly you really want something.
We see this with athletes all the time.
“I want more playing time.”
“I want a bigger role.”
“I want the ball.”
“I want to be a captain.”
Great.
But do you want the responsibility that comes with it?
Do you want the extra preparation?
Do you want the expectations?
Do you want your teammates counting on you when the game is on the line?
Everybody wants the reward.
The best competitors learn to want the pressure too.
Because pressure isn’t something that comes with opportunity.
Pressure IS part of the opportunity.
