A package firewall is available in public preview to inspect npm package metadata and downloads for malware before they reach endpoints like CI/CD hosts or coding agents.

This is Pele, my new rendering library for diagrams and charts, compatible with the latest Mermaid syntax.
- 100-500× faster than mermaid.js
- 6× smaller bundle
- No dependencies
- Easy to theme
- Responsive to device width
In pursuit of making Obsidian insanely fast and cohesively designed, I always found the Mermaid library to be too big, too slow, and too hard to theme. Pele will be the new renderer in the next version of Obsidian, but you can start using it now.
Pele [ˈpɛlɛ] is named after the goddess of volcanoes and fire. It's open source under the MIT license. Try the playground!
IANAL, but I accidentally became an expert in open source license compliance as the technical lead of this product.
It's been a winding road from working on internal tooling to features fully integrated with GitHub, and I'm excited for the GA release!
Open source license compliance is now generally available for GitHub Enterprise Cloud with ruleset-based, enterprise-wide license policy checks.
• Enforces license compliance before merging PRs that add or change dependencies

What if chat is not the best UI for agents?
Chat, tell us: Is chat always the right UI?
@burkeholland argues no, not when we have canvases in the GitHub Copilot app.

Coming soon to the GitHub Copilot desktop app: editable diffs!! ✏️
Agent got you most of the way there? Make those last tweaks directly in the diff, right where you’re reviewing the changes.

Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 7.0.0.
The most significant changes since 6.0.0 are faster installations, stronger sandboxing, native macOS app, vulnerability checks, advisory database, end of macOS 10.15 support and Intel Macs to Tier 3.

I said something about this when the beta came out. Things is an amazingly refined to-do list manager and the one part that had rough edges was repeating to-dos. No more! Repeating to-dos now work as smoothly as everything else.
We’ve made repeating to-dos far more flexible, with two highly requested improvements: you can now complete them early, and easily reschedule them when plans change 🎉

14/100 I had to jump into this train, porting old games into newer platform is becoming easier and cheaper than ever with AI, would love to see @Nintendo or @PlayStation doing original, modern remakes!
PD: I own an original copy of the N64 game.
This thread is a great peek behind the scenes of a huge new release at GitHub.
The launch of Stacked PRs is one of the biggest releases in @github history, touching almost every service we run
I wanted to share some details about how we built it and everything that went into it
Strap in folks, this is gonna be a long one 🧵

Today 👇
- 225M developers call @GitHub home – a 45M jump since February 2026 alone
- 50M users are building with GitHub Copilot
- Every major coding agent runs on GitHub, and 1 in 3 PRs now involves an agent
There’s never been more choice in software. Developers can go anywhere. Yet they’re STILL choosing GitHub.
To our community: thank you. Thank you for choosing to build here, with us. To the GitHub team: let’s keep crushing it. Really proud to see this land in earnings ❤️
Took us a minute, but stacked PRs are now on GitHub 🥞

It's only been a day or two since we got access to GitHub's stacked diffs and it's already transforming how we work.

I never invested time in Graphite or JJ so admittedly this is late adoption on my part but if I never have to review a 15k line PR again, I'm all in.
I've been a @CulturedCode Things user for 10+ years. I tried lots of others, but always came back to Things and pretty much stopped trying others.
I'm now in the beta and they've fixed what is possibly the only annoyance with the app that I have! (And they fixed it well!)

By not getting too focused on optimizing just tool calls, we made GitHub Copilot Code Review 20% less expensive with no hit to quality with one simple trick:
Make the agent loop act more like a reviewer and less like a tool calling robot. 👇
We at GitHub have been using internal tooling for a while to manage our open source license compliance. For the past several months, we've been all-in on a new set of features integrated into GitHub.
Those features are now available to customers with GHAS and an enterprise.
See more about how we use these tools within GitHub: github.blog/enterprise-softw…
