Great read. I don’t think I knew of Saw prior to this controversy but the reactions by some of the CN crowd is just vile.
Christians have invented a new blood sport. All you need is a brother's worst day and a phone with a full charge. Last week it was Samuel Sey. This week it will be someone else. The question is whether you'll be in the stands. virgilwalker.substack.com/p/…

There needs to be a federal law to criminalize this behavior. 10 years minimum without the possibility of parole. The trial should be televised and all proceedings should go to the victim.
I’ve been red pilled, black pilled, white pilled, clear pilled. All the pills. I don’t even know which one this is, but it’s one of the strongest ones I’ve had in a long long time. The desperation in his voice. You can see the sight of his kids in his eyes when he says he’s supposed to be home with them. You can see the math he’s doing in his head as he calculates how much money he has left, and how much he needs for his mortgage, and when it’s due. What the hell is the American dream anymore? Is this what it’s about? Is there anyone who would say this guy isn’t working his ass off? For what? So that 25% of his income can go to a government that wastes it on a bunch of shit he didn’t vote for? Subsidizing the food he stocks grocery stores with for people who don’t work a 1,000th of how hard he works to buy groceries with EBT cards that he pays for, which then drives up the cost of groceries for him and his family that he pays for out of his paycheck because he’s doing it the right way. This entire system is shit. It’s shit. There is no nicer way to put it. It is dog. shit. This guy should be working a 9-5 at a job that gives him dignity so that he can be at home with his kids at a decent time. Instead he’s some jerk off’s content. His stressed out, end of his rope reaction is some asshole’s income. This is bleak stuff. Absolutely bleak.

This is a great read. It provides context and explains how we got here in such a clear way.

Across the four Gospels, Jesus’s interactions with women consistently broke the cultural norms of his day…characterized not by dominance, surveillance, or authoritarian control, but by dignity, intellectual engagement, and pastoral grace. Best marriages I have observed have this in common… A husband leads his household with dignity, love, and respect. Their wife and children seek his advice and counsel not because he has demanded it, but because he has proven trustworthy. Insecure men rely on control; godly men earn respect. Performative control over women almost always masks a hollow reality. Either a deeply abusive dynamic or a fractured connection where the man clings to an illusion of authority while his partner is completely disengaged or checked out.
Since the husbands have failed to supervise their women, the fathers have now stepped in to reclaim that duty. The women will be supervised one way or another.

There is an unhealthy dynamic playing out X that is frustrating to see. Whether it’s @JoelWebbon making bombastic claims about civil law, women’s suffrage, or ethnicity, or @Brian_Sauve , @Eric_Conn and the like, posting deliberately incendiary takes on gender hierarchies and "soft men"... isn't accidental. On X, outrage drives impressions, algorithmic reach, and monetization. Nuance gets buried; provocative takes builds an engaged, defensive tribe. When critics push back, the tone instantly shifts. Legitimate critique or accountability is rarely engaged on its merits. Instead, they typically pivot. Legitimate pushback is framed as evidence of "faithfulness." Any critic is labeled "woke," "compromised," or "hating biblical truth," turning genuine doctrinal or ethical concerns into badges of honor for their followers...many of whom are anon accounts. Men who brand themselves as rugged, unfiltered truth-tellers often become hyper-literal and sensitive the second someone uses blunt or biting language against them. They will declare their critic is not heaven-bound, but get indignant when others suggest the same for them. Nothing illustrates this hypocrisy more clearly than how they handle grace and repentance. Recently, Joel publicly mocked a Christian man as a "simp" simply because the man gave glory to God for redeeming his wife, who had worked as a cam girl before coming to Christ. The husband wasn't boasting about her sin; he was pointing to the transformative power of the gospel in her life before she was a believer. In contrast, Webbon has admitted to having a sexual relationship with a woman in his church while he was serving as her pastor and neither was married. While he claims to have repented, he often downplays the serious implications of a pastor disqualifying himself through an abuse of spiritual authority, brushing it off as mere "immaturity." A layman is ridiculed for celebrating Christ’s redemption of a woman prior to conversion, while a shepherd who compromised a member of his flock minimizes his own disqualification. This is Christian Nationalism in 2026 and we either follow them or go to hell.

This is a better comparison with all the details. Still think Hurts is underrated.
Jalen Hurts vs. Peyton Manning through their first 93 games: More touchdowns Way fewer interceptions Higher passer rating And people still say Hurts "can't throw." 👀 (via @Chase_Senior)

A pastor isn’t a Census Bureau clerk, and shepherding isn’t data entry. Conflating civic demography with an ongoing fixation on racial crime stats avoids the real issue: Scripture calls overseers to pursue peace and avoid quarreling, not feed racial division under the banner of pastoral ministry. You spent years warning the church about the dangers of 'woke' racial obsessions (which I fully agreed) only to turn around and run the exact same race-obsessed playbook in reverse. It’s just identity politics in a different wrapper.

“I have to sit with that for a second.”

This was the real question. I am wondering if @JoelWebbon missed it or just refuses to answer it.
Replying to @JoelWebbon
Thanks, for answering. Not sure you see where I'm going. Let's not get sidetracked by Charlie Kirk. Where I am going is this: Are you partnering with some men in order to build a nation that once it's built would outlaw the very behavior they exhibit now? Do they know this?

Those who know me know I don’t play the race car. I don’t think everyone who disagrees with me is etc. This however is indefensible. And if he is only doing it for clicks and engagement, that’s even worse.
White Christian men are the only ones who are playing by “the rules”. Everyone else is taking their own side. We’re the only ones who refuse. It’s suicidal.

There is a distinct difference between using social media for fellowship and using it to manufacture influence. When Christian leaders choose to play the algorithm—trading in provocative discourse and controversial takes to maximize reach 1/3
G3 took its social media down. Before the record goes with it, one question. The men who demanded repentance from Josh Buice were right to demand it. Repentance picks up the phone. It calls the man it slandered, says his name, says what it did, and does it whether or not anyone is watching. So how many ever got that call? Not @TomBuck, not the elders at FBC Lindale, not the hurt families who left Pray’s Mill, and not the men who opened a dossier that should never have reached them. Those men who resigned were my elders. I sat under their preaching and submitted to their oversight, and I am not writing from a distance. virgilwalker.substack.com/p/…

they expand their jurisdiction far beyond their local congregation. You cannot intentionally build a global platform to project authority, only to claim pastoral immunity behind closed doors when moral failures occur. 2/3

Four years into the post-GPT era, public commentary remains obsessed with model leaderboards, benchmark racing, and release cycles. Yet in actual production, the real heavy lifting is quietly handled by fast, cost-effective workhorse models running at massive operational scale.

The market / influencers treat model drops like consumer smartphone launches, but in enterprise engineering, chasing raw model IQ without building system infrastructure is a trap.

The foundation model is only a fraction of the actual solution. The true differentiator between a fragile demo and a high-impact business application isn't model size - it's the application harness.

I am infrequent but yearly Amtrak rider. The customers service you get while on board is often awful. Conductors are short and demeaning. This has been the case for the last 20 years.
