Some of you have forgotten that only three years ago you were perfectly capable of writing an essay, writing a eulogy, telling a bedtime story to a child, and it should worry you that powerful companies have convinced us we can’t do things we’ve been doing for 5,000 years.

If you've ever wondered why American politics have gone completely bananas over the last 10 years, here's why. Citizens United allowed the Epstein class to destroy our democracy.
Sixteen years ago, the Supreme Court decided that corporations are people under the First Amendment. Today, sold-out politicians block progress on all fronts to appease their corporate donors. Citizens United is among the worst decisions in history. It corrupts our system every day.

Sorry, but this tragedy isn’t “unimaginable.” We saw ten people killed at a grocery store last week! We saw an elementary school shot up with 20 kids dead less than ten years ago. It’s very much imaginable now.

This thread will be dedicated to the victims of the mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas. As a parent, my heart is broken seeing these faces and their ages. My condolences to their families during this difficult time 🙏🏻 Xavier Lopez, 10. He was a 4th grader at Robb Elementary.

18 years old and writing about white genocide before he went out to massacre Black folks buying groceries. But tell me again how we don’t need antiracism education in schools.

They just went to the grocery store. Buying breakfast for their kids. Looking for fresh vegetables. Getting the ingredients for Sunday dinner. They just went to the grocery store, and now they’re gone. It’s unacceptable. It’s devastating. It’s terrorism. It’s white supremacy.

Racially segregated neighborhoods, food deserts & poverty are all forms of white supremacist violence. This violence is carried out on a daily basis by the government in cooperation with private corporations. It is the soil from which other acts of racial terrorism sprout forth

If the cops in the U.S. can't stop crime after receiving $100 billion annually then maybe we should reconsider what "crime-prevention" looks like
The "crime wave" is being wildly exaggerated. But even if it wasn't, we need to invest in communities. The U.S. spends over $100 BILLION on policing. That's more than every single army on earth except the U.S. and China. If crime is rising, policing isn't working.

Hey, remember when the Panama Papers were released and they showed how basically every wealthy person on the planet was avoiding taxes by offshoring their money and nothing was done about it except the reporter who broke the story was murdered with a car bomb?

Lots of companies have record stock prices despite huge revenue losses - because they laid off employees. Costco, on the other hand, has seen sales surge 11%, but its stock is falling - because it gave workers $2/hour more. This is capitalism finance.yahoo.com/news/wall-…
