It’s so strange to see public health officials and institutions adopt libertarian phrases. “Wearing a mask is a personal choice” is political phrasing. That’s not a sentence that would ever be used in public health messaging normally. “Brushing your teeth is a personal choice.”

Booking for the moderna BA1 bivalent vaccine opens in Alberta on the 21st (disregard wrong previous tweet). Booking opens at 8 but some sites start rolling in between 7-9am in our experience. Must be 3 months ago from previous dose, recommendation of 5 month gap from prev. dose.

So society is telling these girls that their shorts have to be mid-thigh lest they be sexualized while society also ensures that stores don’t carry shorts that to mid thigh & most girls’ clothing is sexualized. To exist as female is to exist on a knife’s edge, even as a kid.

On public health, some say it's costly therefore don't have any rules. That's a dangerous conclusion, since it merely enlarges the costs and shifts them to those that become ill or die.
A better conclusion is to socialize the costs of public health measures as much as possible.

I don't get this...
Kenney says he pleaded with Albertans on *Thursday* to follow public health restrictions over the long weekend, but cases went up anyway.
That was only five days ago.
If Albertans had listened, we can't expect to see that in the data yet. It's too soon.
