This is the UK. In 2022. Appalling stats on the rampant release of raw sewage into our rivers and seas🤢. By wealthy water companies🤑. Whatever the weather🌞. Affecting wildlife and people😡. Great work @sascampaigns @AmySlack_SAS @UniofExeter #EndSewagePollution #sickofsewage – at Plymouth, England
🚨💩 Our 2022 Water Quality Report is out now! 💩🚨 We've lifted the lid on water companies dumping #sewage after no rain, the impact on human health and much more. Get the facts now👉buff.ly/3VkXvIu We’re #SickOfSewage. It’s time to #EndSewagePollution 📷 PA media

A new paper with our Topp data contributing to the question of how big an MPA needs to be for highly migratory animals! The beauty of biologging & marine policy!
Replying to @melbirds5
The answer to this question is, as you probably guessed, ‘it depends!’. It was promising to see that for species with localized and intermediate ranges (e.g. sea lions, manta rays), there already exists many MPAs large enough to protect these species ranges. (3/8)

New publication from the 4th chapter of my thesis! "Management implications of shifting baselines in fish stock assessments" in Fisheries Management & Ecology is available here: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/… @SeaAroundUs @UBCoceans Please enjoy a short summary video 📹🎣
Anyone have an idea what this little monster is? About 7cm long, found legging it across the courtyard (twice, once after 'repatriation' to a flower bed). #Caterpillar #perth @wamusuem

It's no longer adequate to address overfishing alone. Climate change threatens 40% of nations. But, we can fish smarter to sustain fisheries & maintain nutrient flows where they're most needed New in @CurrentBiology by @Eva__Maire & a fantastic group tinyurl.com/3ubz4vs3

We have uncovered shocking human rights abuses in South Korea’s fishing fleet. ‘Dangerous Waters’ hears from the migrant fishers suffering maltreatment and abuse. Urgent action to protect workers and introduce #transparency is needed. New EJF 🎥 : youtube.com/watch?v=xrDq2he7…

How about illustrating the need to immunise everyone, rich or poor, by using the analogy of a virulent disease that will otherwise continue to incubate and mutate in unvaccinated populations? i.e. the actual effing situation. Exactly how dumb do the WHO think their audience is?
No one is safe from #COVID19 until everyone is safe. This is why we must vaccinate health workers and highest risk populations in all countries first and at the same time. Donate. Doses. Now. #VaccinEquity
